3794 stage 2 VS 4094..

So I have plans to install twins on my LBZ (built engine). I managed to get my hands on a BD 3794 stage 2 (67.8mm comp wheel) for cheap.
I have decided on a S480 with billet wheel and 1.19AR housing as it will be street driven and towed with frequently. Normally everyone runs the 1.35 housing.
After talking to many vendors, the majority have suggested a 3794 with the 64.7mm compressor wheel as the smaller one.

Is the 3794 stage 2 on BD’s website the same as a normal 4094 Garret turbo? I am a little confused.
What sort of spoil up time will I see if I decide to keep the 3794 stage 2?

I am looking for something with really nice spool up time. I don’t want to have to wait to spool the smaller turbo constantly. Looking for something with really nice throttle response and street manors. Aiming for around the 800-850HP mark. I am at about 3500’ elevation.

Engine specs are as follows:
- Wagler ported heads
- Stage I camshaft
- 42% over injectors
- Engine built for 1000HP

Thanks

I know nothing about the bd turbo it’s self. But I’ve never had a complaint about 3794 spool times

You'll need more injector to make that goal. Honestly you'd probably be happier with the smaller vgt on there. A 64/80 and 40 overs would be really nice and mild and will drive well. Certainly won't be the 800hp monster you're aiming for.

And generally everything advertised as a 3794 has started off of that box borg charger.
A 4094 and a 3794 are quite a bit different on the exhaust side.

If you're dead set on a big number you might as well start off with at least 60 overs and the 68mm charger. But if you haven't had anything like this before then you might be better off going smaller first.

Thanks for the input towards some of my questions.

I am still looking for someone to answer my original question.
Is the 3794 with a 67.8mm wheel the same turbo as a 4094??
You mentioned a difference in the exhaust side. What exactly is different?

I am going to assume a 3794 (68mm) should be fine for the secondary turbo paired with a s480, no?
How big of a difference will I see in spool time between the 3794 64mm VS 68mm??

Thanks

They are different turbos. A 4094 is a different turbo completely with different everything. One turbo is a GT37 chassis the other is a GT40 chassis, both are Garrett based. 4094 has a bigger turbine and larger compressor. 3794 spools faster. People have taken the 3794 platform and produced a turbo that runs better than a 4094 due to the advancements we have in tuning technology as well as what Mark & Danville has done.

3794 (68mm) and a S480/96/1.15 T6 with some 100% overs would be a killer towing setup as well as make good power. The spoolup time between a 64mm and a 68mm 3794 aren't huge but will be noticeable. Danville prefers to pair their 68mm vgt with a 485/96 and has done 1000-1100hp that way.

my suggestion, 64 or 65mm 3794 and the 480 with a 1.32 housing.

the 480 is going to come up fast with a better flowing exhaust side on the 3794 compared to stock and the 64 or 65 will come on like stock. the 68 wont be as quick spooling unless you get some mods done by Danville. i personally like marks done up 3794 65mm, thats the charger i will go with in my setup if/when i change from my modded stock IHI.
