Hello agian everyone! After alot of "back and forth" with several shops across the country - I have been able to put together a solid list of classes for the first 2 months of the new year.

We are back to bring you another round of EFILive Training courses covering your Duramax and Dodge trucks! I apologize it took so long to put the list and dates together - there was just a ton of coordination that had to occur!

These classes will be 2 days long and will include the "basics" class followed by an "Advanced" class on the 2nd day.

There are 4 locations for these classes starting in January:
Cherry Tree, PA (January 12-13th)
Salt Lake City, UT (January 26-27th)
Zanesville, OH (February 9-10th)
Rapid City, SD (February 23-24th)

There are tentative classes for March but it's far enough away and have a few details still needing to be ironed out before announcing them.

If you have questions about the specific classes, locations, etc. - please post them here or email us: [email protected]
------------

The "Basics" course will cover the following, and will start at a very basic level and work towards intermediate topics by end of day. It will cover the same tuning concepts for both GM and CUMMINS - so there will be a little bit for everyone. The "Advanced" class on the second day will pick up and carry on from where the previous day left off and will work right through advanced topics and heavily modified trucks. The second day will also have a more open forum layout for the last half of the class so many of the questions people are left with get a chance to be answered / demonstrated.

If you want further details about the course contents, please view the classes on our website.

These courses are intended to give EFILive owners a leg-up with their own trucks and comfort level with using EFILive software.

I will be providing lunch and drinks, as well as special discounts on EFILive and other products from StarLite Diesel. The cost of the 2 day course is $500. Each class day is targeted to be approximately 7-8 hours of in class time.

There will be a course handbooks provided to each person, but I am encouraging everyone with a laptop to bring it pre-loaded with the latest EFILive software (from their website). I will be emailing each person in the class a few days beforehand so they will have the chance to get this software installed.

If you have questions or suggestions, please let us know! Post em here or email us: [email protected]

LOL

I was just 20 miles south in CT less than 2 months ago doing a class there... but I have found a shop located in MA that is willing to host a class as well, but 2 trips back east within a couple hundred miles of each other is hard to do within a couple months. Perhaps if the ones i'm looking into for March (west coast) don't come together i'll get back in touch with the shop in MA.

I did visit MA while I was there a couple months ago... a little place alot of people from the area refer to as "The Gras" in Springfield. Definitely a wild place LOL :thumb:

Keep watching the thread. As i get more details ironed out on these other classes (or failure to do so) I'll be posting the details up for everyone!

I'm geographically limited from ever attending, so I bought your books instead...FANTASTIC...very informative...haven't had time to play with my own truck lately, but tweaked an 06 Cummins and picked up nearly 3mpg.

I was at the class this year in Iowa and if your on the fence take the class! I am very happy I did learned a lot as I am a computer nerd so it sunk in fast! Been toying with a few trucks and have had a great time learning more and more.

Any chance of a class in the southwest?

As in California LOL?? Where eactly are you meaning with that? Right now my home state of Utah is as far 'west' as I have gone, but still hoping for the class in Washington to come together. Again - plenty of alternatives if the ones I am currently pursuing don't come together though. If you have suggestions, add them to my list. I try to go with customer feedback, and you're not the first to ask for California (if that's where you were thinking).....

I may add more to the schedule past march - but that's far enough away right now that I will have to see how the current ones look before I stretch things that far... :)

Nope you're good. Texas is a big place though. I had a class there this past June and didn't have much interest in the local area... people wanted it further south. Just haven't found a spot down there to do one.

AZ i have tried to line up as well, with no luck. Colorado as well. Just can't find a facility with a dyno in house or a mobile dyno cheap enough (most $2500+ for the weekend) to make it reasonable or realistic to do the classes. I am totally open to suggestions though. Doesn't mean i can put one together over night, but if you have facilities in mind that might be capable of hosting the class - feel free to let me know. You will see alot of the classes i've held are because of suggestions from other people on this site in other threads (at least the areas i'm setting them up in)...

Appreciate the input and any help you can give towards pointing me to future possibilities!

Is there a specific type of dyno you want to run on?
There are a few in my area, how far is "easy access" from an airport for you?
I have a couple places in mind, i can pm them to you if you'd like? I have been to these facilities and depending on class sizes you need to make it worth your while, they should be adequate.

This is in regards to putting a class together in the pacific nw/seattle area.

So to help me help you, can you post/pm me what exactly you need? I can even try to get some more people interested in this, does the class cover both diesel and gas tuning? Or would those be separate? Cuz i know guys runnin gassers too, gm ls stuff.

In answer to the dyno question - nope - just so long as we can fit trucks on it and run em, for class purposes i don't care what numbers it spits out... just demonstrates topics we cover in class (we return to the dyno multiple times with a couple of different trucks just to make sure everyone 'sees' the effect our changes in the tune are having. Hard to pile 20 guys in a truck and take it around the block everytime we make a change :)

As far as my drive from an airport. The closer the better obviously - but i'm up for about 2 hours of driving if needed to get to a place... so that's not a HUGE deal as long as there are hotels in the general area that are decent... Cell phone needs to get service... ummmm...

Think that mostly covers it!

Anyone with more questions? Things got quiet on here... and the class in PA is looking awful dreary even though several people wanted one there....

If you have questions shoot! We are about a month away from the PA class!!

The Training class in PA is being moved from January to March. The exact date isn't determined yet, but it will be early - mid March. I'll have the details of the change posted by the end of the week! The reason for the change is after talking to people wanting to attend, the timing was bad for them as well as just the time of year being right after the holidays so - trying to accomodate requests. Location and everything else will still be the same, just a later date.

Be sure to PM or email us with any questions!
