Good Shit Man! Nice project! Do you have build info or specs on that 4runner?

The 4runner belongs to my boss. He bought it out of a tow yard about 10 years ago all stock. We (our shop) did the body work and repainted it, sas'd it, recently swapped the 3.4l v6 in it after the 3.0l blew a head gasket, triple t-cases, arb's front and rear, 5.29's, All Pro front and rear bumpers that we custom built a rear spare tire carrier and front stinger on, with a bunch of custom led rock lights that my buddy Ed builds (fulkersonfabrication.com). There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the basics.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. The only real time I have to work on the camaro is saturday's so I will try to update this thread as often as I can. I'm planning on getting the wheel tubs installed this coming saturday.

Looking good.....hope to build a 70 Chevelle when I graduate

Go for it! There's more and more swaps coming out all the time.

The wheel tubs and trunk floor have been one of the most difficult parts of this build so far, and I'm not kidding about that. Taking the time to get my tolerances how they should be is very time consuming to say the least.

The wheel tubs need to be assembled first. I got these from Chassisworks, and they have Pittsburgh seams which makes installation easier. I used the cardboard packaging to make templates, as per the instructions. I had Bernie help me with the first wheel tub.

We needed to measure over from the wheel tub end over to the quarter panel every couple inches to get the rough contour. Then, a body contour tool is used to trace the exact shape onto the template.

Installation of the tubs required more trimming of the inner quarters.

I made the second wheel tub myself. FYI, it's much easier with 2 people.

Here's a few shots of the pittsburgh seam, and how it's assembled and folded over with a hammer and dolly.

I used some sheet metal screws to temporarily attach them while I made the rest of the trunk floor.

I also got the floor kit from Chassisworks. It needs to be trimmed and fit to the frame and car, and notched for all the roll cage tubing.

I have 1 more floor piece to fit, then I will take it all apart and seal everything and get it prepped for final welding and seam sealing. That's next Saturday's to do list...

First off that car is going to be amazing... If you haven't thought about it you may want to get the roll cage & chassis certified. Much easier to make adjustments to it now than after you get everything else fitted in there. Beautiful job though. I wish my 67' RSSS was that far along...
