1058 stall.

I can't brake stall my truck (1058 converter stock turbo) past 1900rpm and that's standing on the brake. Is that normal? Or do I need to change something in my tuning to allow me to get a couple more Rpms on the line before the truck pushes threw the brakes.

Converter couples great and is perfect on the street. I just thought I would be able to leave at 2200rpms or so with this converter.

What kind of boost is it making?

I can stall mine to about 2200 before I can't hold it back anymore. With the stock turbo I could get it up to the same area.

Yes it tries to start pushin threw around 1600. I have to mat the stop pedal to get it to hold until 1900.

OK I just tested mine in the driveway. I can get it to 2300, after that the boost really comes on hard and it pushes through. 2300 is 20lbs.

In my stock tune it won't stall past 1800 and about 8lbs.

You have some kind of issue if you can't hold a stock turbo past 10lbs.

Cool I'm gonna go strap the go pro on and take a video. Wonder why the stock tune won't stall as high as the bigger tune?

A converter stall is a general term for the most part. It says it will stall 1900 rpm...that's ideal in all the right conditions.

Put more power too it and it will start stalling higher until it simply pushes through the brakes.

I have a stock stall precision ml converter in my truck. It stall 1800-1900 rpm no problem on my small tune, put it on my 720 horse tune and I can stall it too 2200 no problem. Once I hit 2200 rpm it just pushes through the brakes no matter how hard I have the pedal to the floor. I've even red lighted myself because of it.

I must just need to work on staging the truck. It feels to me as soon as it hits 1500rpm it wants to go. I really gotta mat the brake pedal and just barely easy into the throttle to get it to stall to 1900rpm. Anymore fuel applied after 1900 and it just walks threw the brakes.

I don't know how harsh this is on stuff but I've heard of people using a 2nd gear start tcm tune to combat the walking through the brake issue?

I tried it in 4 low, I can't even get it to 1600 before it is pushing through, about 5 lbs. Haha, just wanted to see what would happen.

Ya thats exactly what mine does. I can hold it back until 1900 and get 10lbs. I guess my setups ok then. Thanks for all the input guys.

Brake stall limit is the point where it pushes right through the brakes even if the pedal is on the floor?

New to the terminology, trying to get this all figured out as I'll be throwing a 1058 in with my trans build.
