09 1500 hood on 2500hd

I know a lot of people swap the 2500hd hoods to the 1500 trucks. 07-10 2500hd hoods fit the 07-14 1500's pretty easily. I want a fiberglass hood that I can't seem to find. Harwood makes one for a 07-14 1500, Is there a reason it wouldnt fit on a 07-10 2500hd? Has anyone done this? I can't find any info and Harwood didn't have any info either when I called. Looking at the back of the hoods in pictures they look almost identical. I know many of the aftermarket steel cowl hood say they will work on the 07-14 1500 and the 07-10 2500's

Any junkyard can answer your question. They specialize in that very thing. What parts will fit on what trucks.

They can't tell me anything, the part numbers of the hoods are different. Oem part number of a 2500 hood is 20863105 and the 1500 is 20863101. I've already tried this route

I tried to compare pics of both GMC and Chevy because I cant remember what make you own. They both look like the hoods would interchange between 1500 and 2500, but not Chevy to GMC. GMC may also have an issue with the top of the grill being different (its part of the hood).

Might have to get a couple buddies to help, go to a yard, and ask if you can experiment with a stock 1500 hood on your truck to check fit. I couldnt find any other info.

I searched high and low too. I appreciate you looking into it also. I found Facebook stuff with people asking but not much info
