PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 2005 chevy 2500 6.6. I drove it to south Dakota for a job and on the way up their my truck was smoking gray and white. I had diesel all over the tailer i was hauling. I got to south Dakota replaced the fuel filter and housing (It was leaking ), Truck ran good. The next morning it wouldn't start. Then i replaced the housing again and the truck ran great. Later that day I ran the truck out of fuel. I filled it up, primed the housing and got it to start. the next morning it wouldn't start. So I replaced the small fuel lines hear the turbo and fuel pump under the thermostat housing and ac compressor. I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator. When I plug in my scan tool my fuel rail pressure stays between 175psi and 195psi. When i crank the engine over it raises to about 600 psi but no higher. When i crank the truck it blows out white smoke but wont start. I don't know what else to do or what else to test. I have a injector leak down test kit i can do. But I'm lost and need some guidance if any one is willing. PLEASE HELP! I will answer and questions i missed or take any info you have Thanks in advance!
I have a common rail diesel with low rail pressure.
Actual pressure: 178–200 (won’t build past 600 when cranking)
Desired pressure increases when commanded
Fuel pressure regulator command not responding (23%)
Fuel rate reading -1
New rail pressure sensor and regulator
New fuel filter and lines
Pump commanded ON with no pressure increase
I need help determining if this is a weak pump or tank pickup issue before tearing it apart.
