Im pretty sure I'm staying with the 317s. I currently have 2 sets one on the burb and another on the spare engine that needs rebuilt. Yes sir, I found it, had it laying in the DS frame channel thaty perfectly visible with the body off the chassis. I'm going to have to order #6/#8 as well cable is extremely tight and hard too pull, when I got the truck. #8 broke a part when I pulled it apart on tear down. New fuel lines split...- malibu795

Anyone got picture of the brackets that mount to the tail shaft housing and hold the shifter cable? One is mainly used to secure the trans cable too- malibu795

Valve lash
How do you set lash? I set mine with intake open I set the exhaust for that hole. Takes longer for sure, but there's no mistake on setting lash while in over lap with both valves are open slightly. Which is the only thing I can think of if everything mechanically checks out- malibu795

Nice! I stop hustling like that long time ago.. don't need to entertain that heat with a CDL. Bench racing say it should be around 11.50-12.00 at 115-120mph in the 1/4. If it pulls low 12s or anything faster I'll be content for a car that is not dedicated drag and substantially more road...- malibu795

Why I put limits on the big block in my Malibu wagon, has to be 87oct friendly, and 6-650hp is about the limit of most big single disc clutches that have reasonably good street manners. Also the trans is rated for 700tq, the 3" 1350 steel driveshaft and the 31spline 8.8 out back will probably...- malibu795

One is 4-5k into a 4l80 to handle 1000hp (gas not diesel HP )after that it gets $$$ fast with aftermarket cases I've stayed away away from 6/8spd- malibu795

Yes in a GM full time 4*4 chassis.. body is a magnum wagon the front clip doesn't look like a magnum. True, 4L80 is pretty easy to get to 1000hp, seams they're still working on the 6/8/10sp though- malibu795

Scored some door panels with switches for my 09 dmax, off marketplace. Ran 4 hrs up to Chesterfield MI area. For the amount of blow-by and blue smoke on start up. Did 715 miles on last two tanks avg 15.9mpg running 73-74 mph. And saw this- malibu795
