    Lifetime oil filter?

First thing I see that a daily driver would be interested in knowing is the micron rating. For the racers and pullers, piece of mind in being able to dump the filter and look on a regular basis is critical. Looked, and it will fit the newer L5P motors for thread fitment, but do not know about...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

I've had new belts squeak for some reason. Take a dry bar of cheap hotel soap and hit both sides of the belt as it will act like a belt dressing / cleaner. if the squeak stops, then it's in the belt not in one of the mechanical parts most likely.

    OEM quality radiator support

Did you check LMC Truck? I know their parts are sometimes hard to determine fit, but they have expanded the metal parts years covered in the past couple of years. I think they are up to 2013 on some models now.

    Piston coatings?

Watch Steve Morris engines. He did the L2L coating on the pistons in his drag and drive race motor, the oil pump in the motor, and the turbo compressor housings. Be prepared to change the oil several times as the coating wears in, be ready quickly as the coating will plug a filter up fast. I...

2022 L5P: What would cause premature brake failure

Does the truck have adaptive cruise? I know on my 24, the cruise will use the brakes instead of engine brake when towing or trying to hold speed downhill. 36,000 miles and the fronts say they are in the 60% range. Also when I drop speed on cruise by more than 5mph it uses the brakes to get...

    What fluid for transmission.

When Mike rebuilt my trans, he put in Normal Dex III. I asked about swapping to Amsoil with after the build since I already has a few gallons on hand for upcoming services planned before the rebuild was planned. He told me to not swap for several thousand miles to the full synthetic so the...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Since Powell no longer is doing regrinds (too much new work to keep up), polishing is going to be a hard option to follow through with. Hopefully Powell comes through. I know he does cut lobe masters if he does not have them to match stuff as he's talked about it before. Also if there are any...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Check out Powell Machine https://www.powellmachineinc.com/ if you send him the one you like, he can can doctor the lobes and match it provided he can get a core. Never hurts to ask, and I don't think he is opposed to building more products into his lineup. He has a youtube channel and is not...

    Clunking in driveline

Have you checked the front hubs? Taking off hard changes the loadings which can cause the noises to appear. All of mine that went out seemed to start making the noise in reverse first. Going to guess you checked the fluid level in the transfer case?

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Chewing is for amateurs. Those dedicated metal cutting circular saws are impressive. saw one used to cut through 3" bars. Those bars were high strength material bolts (super stuff).

    Seriously?

I'm more impressed it was not sucked in half like a taco and shoved down the intake tube. That alone should tell you something about the structural build quality of the filter. Amazing how people only read a portion of the title of a part. Lifetime filter but they do not know it needs to be...

    A/C Experts Needed

What is the vent outlet temp at the 25 psi? Wonder if the rear evaporator is internally plugged? Have you checked the low pressure ac line temperature as it exits the evaporator? Is the rear Evaporator clean? Seen them stopped up not allowing for full heat transfer. Don't remember the full...

    Calling all Armchair accident reconstructionists

I had a steer tire do something almost like that, but outside side wall vs inside. Did not think to ask when I had all 4 changed as to which one had the plug in the tire. I personally plugged one of them in the tread so I know at least one of them and I do think it was possibly the one that...

    Torsion bars not lowering vehicle?

Orientation of the bar in the LCA should not make a difference as long as the key end is similar. What I do see is what appears to be a new set of tie rod ends. Is it possible that your tie rod ends are some how limiting the travel? They also appear to be upside down. For some reason I...

    Torsion bars not lowering vehicle?

Is it possible you are on the bump stops in the front? Double check that nothing is in the bump stop area or the torsion bar bolt bar. Also verify that the torsion bar bolt bar is in the proper orientation as I think it's recessed on the ends so it sits down into the holes in the cross bar.

    Kryptonite death grip traction bar

I looked at the video, went and found the install instructions, and noted that they have a shackle at the front, but limit its forward movement. Never got into traction bars (never made enough power) but it seems the only new thing in their offering is the bent bar for ground clearance.

    Speed of air pistons

I think one of the major big rig companies was testing them for emissions stuff, or a rebuilder for them was. Volvo was testing something called a "wave piston" that had ribs in the combustion chamber.
