    Lifting the cab

If the AC compressor is on top of the engine, remove it from the engine and strap it to the hood (on my LLY I laid a 2x4 across the fenders and strapped it there) that way you do not have to vacuum out the freon. The compressor and condenser go up with the cab.

    Trailer Brakes Too Weak

Depending on how your controller is set, it may not be pushing full voltage when the trailer is connected. With no load, the controller pushes full voltage, but there is nothing there to absorb it, so it stays up. Check your truck side plug for proper tension and corrosion on the lugs. They...

    Trailer Brakes Too Weak

You might try taking the shoes off and cleaning them to get most of the grease off / out, then light them on fire (saw this done on youtube by a farmer on his class 8) and let the grease cook itself out of the shoes. Once the fire puts itself out, clean again. And those blue connectors are...

    Trailer Brakes Too Weak

Did you remove the drum and check the brakes? Do you have through axle grease zerks? As mentioned, test each magnet using a compass to ensure they are activating. Also double check the axle grounds. On the first one, if you have not removed the drum to check the brakes, start there as there...

    Need parts source for boots

https://www.siliconeintakes.com They have been around for a while. I think at one time that is where people were getting the boots needed when making their own dual turbo setups.

What did you do at work today?

Tom, just remind them without you, there would not be a new generation of them. Keep that bar high and make them reach for it. Keep up the good work. BTW, that bridge is 24 months behind schedule (not my fault), but still had the interstate open in 7 days as promised. Off to the next...

    Rattle at idle

Check the front pipe hanger support where it is supposed to be in the rubber grommet. I've had the grommet pop out and it rattles.

What did you do to your home/shop today?

With lighting more fixtures are your friend. More fixtures help prevent dark spots in and around things parked in the building, plus if you loose one, the hole it leaves in the lighting is much less. just my though on the lighting thing.

    3794 turbo braking

You could setup the exhaust brake with quick connects. Go to track, pull a couple of connectors and then the tank compressor setup.

    Rolled my truck.

After a roll over with a trailer, have the frame checked very carefully. Grills in the 1500's are shorter (no filler strip across the bottom).

Funny Characters on my dci. Need some help.

You might want to have the batteries checked. From there, I know when I had the 04 cluster repaired, they replaced several of the voltage regulators. I think they said that they are known to start failing at some point.

    Using coolant

Unfortunately every time you pull the injectors in an LB7 you should probably replace the sleeves. There is a sleeve kit out there for thread in sleeves which make the process either much more bearable, or never to be done again.

    Using coolant

You may have a leaking head gasket. If the leak is in the right place, the coolant leaks down and gets evaporated off before it reaches the ground. Also check the valley for coolant. There are several things that can leak and the resulting puddle ends up in the valley where it works its way...

new head gaskets, now runs rough and smokes

I was referring to the push rods. If you set the lash to tight at the bottom of the lobe stroke (basically partially opening the valve) then at top of lobe stroke, the spring goes into coil bind which leads to failure of a push rod. My connecting rod issue was hydro lock due to stupidity. I...

new head gaskets, now runs rough and smokes

I replaced the Bent connecting rod, the piston, all the rod bearings, and rod bolts. Reused the rings that were on the original piston as the end gap was still on the low side of the book tolerance. That was at about 163k.

new head gaskets, now runs rough and smokes

When I did the LLY, it's pretty easy one you determine TDC #1, but I did verify and check the lash 2X just to ensure that I had them all correct. If you are off 180, I would be worried that a bent push rod could happen. Blue smoke would be oil. How much have you ran it since the re assembly...

    Best PreBuilt Transmission Brands

How to remove water outlet pipe form water pump to oil cooler

I pulled the motor mount. Put a jack under the oil pan and lightly lift on the engine. I tried everything they said here but mine was so tight I actually bent the flange on the pipe rendering it useless.

New place to burn a hole ina piston. No crack, just hole.

25 pulls at WOT can be hard on stuff. Sorry to hear about the hold down bolt issue. Hopefully you can figure out what caused the issue.
