    Caltracs vs Traction bars

Apologies! I thought they were just very large spherical joints! I never drove on a set with cushioned ones. I drove other sets with just regular joints and they were rough. True though, they don’t have as much squish as what I use :) So if you’ve welded to the axle, then why didn’t you use rod...

    Caltracs vs Traction bars

I can’t believe how fast everything is rusting. They’ve only been on for a few months. I need to Blaster Shield everything!

    Caltracs vs Traction bars

Feels like is 13*F, so here’s some quick crappy pics I clicked, lol. You can only get boots on the ends at the front. Seals only on the backs. I actually did a boot on one front and seals on the other to see what lasts longer. I guess I was bored, lol.

    Caltracs vs Traction bars

I can get pictures when I get home from work. As for part numbers, I spoke directly to Travis at Calvert. He recommended that I go with the larger truck bars and their 3/4" hardware and larger course threaded heims. He called it a custom set, but it was really more like a parts-bin "custom"...

    Caltracs vs Traction bars

I’ve had both long bars and Caltracs. The Caltracs don’t just give you racing or 60’ advantages, they make traction everywhere. Like in the rain! I started with long bars and then went to Caltracs and didn’t go back. On the 2002 I went with the new larger truck Caltracs. I do modify the lower...

    Cleetus's Christmas Race

The part of the video where you guys are looking in that drain pan was like my Nonna with the olive oil and water in the bowl looking for the *Malocchio” at the kitchen table ?? Maybe you need to weld an Italian horn to the frame to protect the truck! Hahahaha. *Malocchio - Italian evil eye...

    2002 FE9

Today was a disaster, lol. I tried to swap in the rear seat and the frame is different. I should have done my homework instead of believing the “fits all crew cabs 99-07” ad. Has anyone torn down the lt3 rear seat and re-built it onto the lb7 frame?

    2002 FE9

I’m bleeding from the wallet. Just hung up with Wet Okole. Front and back and the 08 console and seat covers, as well as both front heat and CCW pouches up front. But in the end it will be comfy for a long long time.

    2002 FE9

It’s a pain in the ass, lol. You manipulate the cover back at the pivot stud to mount, and you’ll find a clip. The wings of the clip are safety retained with an oring. Try not to lose either one. I used a video on YouTube to help me. I’ll find and link it here. A word on the armrests - gm...

    2002 FE9

They are 2006 seats out of a 1500 LT3 into a 2002 LS. I did not retain the factory heating function, because the newer trucks use the BCM for the heated seats. If I want heat it will be aftermarket. But otherwise, all I needed to do was supply 12vdc to Orange and Gnd to black. I made up a...

    2002 FE9

I’m making a little progress. Some hiccups along the way, as usual. I completely tore down the front seats. I repaired the driver power lumbar whose cable jumped and its wiring was damaged too. I steamed all of the foam with my wallpaper steamer - and let me tell you, HOLY SHIT does that bring...

    Power seat swap problem

My own stupidity, lmao. The passenger side tested fine but the driver side just clicked and wouldn’t move any setting. The setup is different on the driver side - it has some kind of circuit board. Long story short, driver side had a burned and broken wire that I fixed and then upon testing she...

    Vane Position Sensor question

I suspect the solenoid control valve or it’s wiring, but I’d test the vane position sensor first since it’s easier and free. Pull it out and watch the vpos as you manually squeeze/move the plunger through its stroke. If it’s reading correctly, then your solenoid isn’t moving the vanes off zero.

    Vane Position Sensor question

I think it's electrical and not physical - like sticking vanes. I'm pretty sure that if you disconnect the vane controller it reads zero on the vane position. I'd test that vane control solenoid.

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

interesting question. It's 1* until that .445 second passes, and then jumps to 4* at that exact moment. Then it steadily and very quickly climbs higher. The delay and timing seem very related.
