    LML lash after build

Running the twins at factory 012 cold. Twisting W. stage1 to 5500 sustained, no abnormal sign of wear at 150hrs. Could go tighter, but why.

LB7 Fuel System Issues - Wagers?

Got a chance to haul a couple of loads with this old gem last weekend. Much respect for invention of VGT.. Even knowing it has kryptonite tierods, she was bouncing the front a couple of times where CV's and U-joint age was starting to come up in my gear-head.. Long ways back down this hill...

LB7 Fuel System Issues - Wagers?

Picked up the old girl last Saturday. She's got rail again  After my buddy drove it home, I was gonna hook up the scanner and take it for a test drive. He decided to hook up the dump trailer, and drag 5 tons of gravel up his long, steep and heavily rutted out from the rain driveway...

    Velocity Stacks and Science

Stumbled across a couple interesting reels by a Dub shop testing 3d printed velocity stacks on small CI non-turbo applications. First noticed his cool new Twist concept. Then I went back a couple videos to find what he's actually attempting to resolve. Making air spiral down the tube, and remove...

    10L1000 VB trouble

That first part is what I'm still looking to confirm. Haven't spoken to anyone yet with both both cases opened up to compare holes. But I have all the other electrical guts including a GM replacement Gen1 body on the bench, wired together with Gen2 internal harness. Have a spare connector for...

    10L1000 VB trouble

I was shared this couple days back by someone who's been playing with 10L stuff and big power for a couple years. Answers one main question I had in first couple minutes. The 10L1000 is Allison in name only. These are basically a 10L 80/90 with scaled up internals. Which one would typically say...

    10L1000 VB trouble

I'd love to say I have no idea, but last couple months, have broken 10L 80/90's electronically in every way possible... lol. While I haven't touched a 1000 yet, range position is transmitted back to the BCM over CANbus from the TCM. So your TCM believes it's in the gear stating on a scanner, or...

2018 L5P dpf pressure sensor 5 volt ref

For testing a 5v Ref related circuits, best tool is any old simple potentiometer. 5v Ref goes in on one side, Gnd on the other, signal out is center. This allows you to sweep the 0-5v scale easily with one hand, while holding a scan tool in the other.. However, as listed above, follow the...

    Lifted - Shock Options

I ended up going with the 5100's on RockAuto that Bac's spotted. Wasn't in a huge rush, so standard shipping kept it under $100 each. Started sorting #'s by length, then got sidetracked.. So just email my buddy the link, said order these, and have em shipped to where the trucks parked. Soon as...

    Lifted - Shock Options

That's saves a couple hundred bucks.. Plus they have good cross ref lists. Last time I paid $150+ for a shock, it had had a coil spring attached.

LB7 Fuel System Issues - Wagers?

Received word yesterday from my never met a guy so dang happy to no longer be working on greasy trucks every day ex-GM Dmaster tech,, that the new LBZ mod pump is installed. And she held 160mpa rail on command first fire... Answering that months long questions once and for all.. PUMP ! Except...

    Lifted - Shock Options

Searched for 4" Lift Shocks, and quickly found, that matches A LOT of signatures.. :D Looking for non Bilstein options to fit an 01 3500 with 4in lift kit, Rough Country best we can tell. Looks to be 4in front and 2in blocks in the rear. And has 4 wore plumb out Bilstein shock. Shes also got a...

    Trans Issue 09 gmc 3500

Not uncommon for hard shifts directly after swapping the TCM. Ask if they can use a scan tool to do a "relearn" on the TCM and see how it acts. If not setting any trouble codes or strange msg on the dash, relearn is likely all it requires.

    June '25 Chat -- School's Out....for the Summer!!

I helped get a C10 LS3 / 10L80 swap driving and shifting good last week using 100% OEM hardware, and a $20 CANbus board. Adding a Camaro shifter, it has full manual / tap mode on a floor, with a bench seat.. With all the ZF 8spd and 10LR/L stuff becoming readily available in the used and...

$100 if you can diagnose this whining sound... SERIOUS OFFER

Over the years wrenching, I've found that a $12 stethoscope is the single best tool for locating mystery noises. Loose rockers, pumps, injectors, exhaust leaks, or a growling bearings, nothing will hone in on it quicker than a metal tube and piece of hose...

    10L80 P0777

That sure sounds reasonable. I've been working with someone who trades around in these used 10L's every day. Have a 2019 Gen1 valve body he sent me, and just received the new style range switch, speed sensors, and valve body harness from the Gen2 version. The Gen2 valve body has an extra...

From what I've seen, they're replacing the valve bodies. There is about 4 renditions in part numbers noted in the last 90 days. Kind of like the CP 4 I guess. Sent from my SM-S906U1 using Tapatalk

April '25 Chat -- We wont get fooled again!

I saw a statistic few days ago on Tesla autopilot engaged crashes 2024. Issue there is good example of failure in AI technology. While a modern computer can sort thousands of images per second, it needs to compare multiples at a time, to known images, and make instant friend or foe decisions...
