Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Check out Powell Machine https://www.powellmachineinc.com/ if you send him the one you like, he can can doctor the lobes and match it provided he can get a core. Never hurts to ask, and I don't think he is opposed to building more products into his lineup. He has a youtube channel and is not...

    Clunking in driveline

Have you checked the front hubs? Taking off hard changes the loadings which can cause the noises to appear. All of mine that went out seemed to start making the noise in reverse first. Going to guess you checked the fluid level in the transfer case?

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Chewing is for amateurs. Those dedicated metal cutting circular saws are impressive. saw one used to cut through 3" bars. Those bars were high strength material bolts (super stuff).

    Seriously?

I'm more impressed it was not sucked in half like a taco and shoved down the intake tube. That alone should tell you something about the structural build quality of the filter. Amazing how people only read a portion of the title of a part. Lifetime filter but they do not know it needs to be...

    A/C Experts Needed

What is the vent outlet temp at the 25 psi? Wonder if the rear evaporator is internally plugged? Have you checked the low pressure ac line temperature as it exits the evaporator? Is the rear Evaporator clean? Seen them stopped up not allowing for full heat transfer. Don't remember the full...

    Calling all Armchair accident reconstructionists

I had a steer tire do something almost like that, but outside side wall vs inside. Did not think to ask when I had all 4 changed as to which one had the plug in the tire. I personally plugged one of them in the tread so I know at least one of them and I do think it was possibly the one that...

    Torsion bars not lowering vehicle?

Orientation of the bar in the LCA should not make a difference as long as the key end is similar. What I do see is what appears to be a new set of tie rod ends. Is it possible that your tie rod ends are some how limiting the travel? They also appear to be upside down. For some reason I...

    Torsion bars not lowering vehicle?

Is it possible you are on the bump stops in the front? Double check that nothing is in the bump stop area or the torsion bar bolt bar. Also verify that the torsion bar bolt bar is in the proper orientation as I think it's recessed on the ends so it sits down into the holes in the cross bar.

    Kryptonite death grip traction bar

I looked at the video, went and found the install instructions, and noted that they have a shackle at the front, but limit its forward movement. Never got into traction bars (never made enough power) but it seems the only new thing in their offering is the bent bar for ground clearance.

    Speed of air pistons

I think one of the major big rig companies was testing them for emissions stuff, or a rebuilder for them was. Volvo was testing something called a "wave piston" that had ribs in the combustion chamber.

Do lower temperature thermostats create issues in DI engines?

I wonder if you are having electric fan clutch issues? When the truck is idling for long periods of time, try propping the hood open slightly to allow for more air to escape from under the hood? Is there any way to do the high idle option on a gasser? Increasing air flow and slightly...

    2022 L5P Parasitic Draw TSB

With these new computer controlled alternators, if the battery voltage is below a certain level it will not charge. Truck will run all day, but it will not put out enough to charge the batteries. I'd second batteries as the first place to start, also watch the battery voltage gauge. My 24...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

About the only connectors out there that seem to be worth owning are the Pollaks. Instead of the 7 way rv style, Kinda wish the industry had followed the class 8 trailers with the round pin ones. They all have issues, seems that the round pin ones are hooked and unhooked a lot more than the...

    Horse Trailer Camper

Do those batteries have liquid cooling? Don't think you will pull on them hard enough to need it, but might be worth hooking up the cooling loop just in case you ever pull on them hard with inverters powering something like AC or the house during a storm if needed.

    2024 Duramax issues?

Too bad they cannot sleeve the bores of the valve body with a hard chrome plated liner or chrome the entire valve body for wear.

    2024 Duramax issues?

My 04 cloth seats are the most comfortable to date. Even the 06 leather were not as comfortable as the cloths. The 24 seats are nice. On the charging issue, GM Field service engineer will be at dealership this week for another vehicle. He said while there he will look at mine to see if there...
