    Transmission issue or wiring??

If that was the case, you'd expect dielectric grease in other electrical connectors would cause the same kind of issues with whatever's on said connector ?‍♂️

    Transmission issue or wiring??

So I'm going to be the one to ask it.... Transmission fluid is non-conductive, and all of the electronics inside are submerged in it. In 6L and 6T transmissions, among others I'm sure, the entire TCM also gets submerged (or at least soaked) in it. So why does ATF in the main connector cause odd...

That's a new one for me. I did some searching and apparently it's a 'western thing'. Out east where I'm from all points on both sides are counted.

HVAC blowing hot on one side and cold on the other with a twist

Last week, when I got my truck started after finding the battery stone dead and getting it changed, letting it run, it ended up blowing hot out of the drivers side vents and cold out of the passenger side, with both sides set to '60*'. Figure it's likely the common issue of a bad blend door...

Allison 10L1000 10 speed valve body fixes

Actually, no, not really. What the 'update' does is monitor the line pressure and if it detects a condition that indicates that the 'lockup' is likely to occur in the next 10,000 miles, it'll set a cel and dtc, and limit the trans to 5th gear. It won't prevent the wear or delay it, just...

    2017 GM 6.2 injector replacement

Be very careful when you pop the fuel rail off. Make sure you don't pry one end up too much and bend an injector at the opposite end.

    A/C Experts Needed

If the system isn't losing charge, and replacing the orifice, which was not clogged with debris, made no difference, the only other culprit I can think of would be the TxV. Without a grenaded compressor and debris all over the system, including the orifice tube, the TxV is the only other thing I...

    A/C Experts Needed

Since you replaced the orifice tube and I assume didn't see any signs of debris stuck in it, maybe the TxV? Now are the evaporators plumbed? In series?

    Calling all Armchair accident reconstructionists

So I got some more info. The car was a 2022 Camry (pretty sure it was 2022). Apparently no more than a few minutes prior to the incident, it started a mild vibration that she said felt more like it was something in the road, but it wasn't significant and she couldn't put her finger on it. The...

    Calling all Armchair accident reconstructionists

The only relevant pics I have are below... I really didn't see anything obvious, Other than the inner sidewall seems to be totally gone (It wasn't clear, but she mentioned an 'inner part of the tire' being laying on the interstate... My thought is it was the inner sidewall - My mother asked if...

    Calling all Armchair accident reconstructionists

So my sister and Niece were in a crash yesterday with her bosses car. Let me first say they're both 100% ok. The airbags didn't even deploy, and to paraphrase a GM SRS engineer that I spoke to way back at probably the first Merchant 'Spring Fling', where I asked him about a 'significant' crash I...

    Speed of air pistons

Has anyone ever heard of these 'speed of air' pistons? I found them perusing the screwtubes, and they apparently have a ceramic coating, 'golf ball dimples', a 'gapless' second ring and supposedly have some significant benefits including lower emissions, quieter operation, more power, lower...

Another non-Allison (6T70) question for the experts

Ok, so sorry for another non-Allison question, but some of the most known and respected transmission people are here... So back in 2021, the 6T70 in my wife's 2015 Malibu ate itself to the point there was ZERO motion in either direction, no matter what I commanded with GDS or anything else, and...

Need help with a LB7 / LBZ conversion truck in SW NY state.

Agreed - that's what had me pulling my hair out with that Jeep and then massive facepalm when I found it was out of time.

Well, in this case, it 'seems' that the ECM isn't commanding fuel for some reason based on what's been posted. I'm not there, so...

Need help with a LB7 / LBZ conversion truck in SW NY state.

The thing with timing and diesels, is if the valve/piston timing is correct (or close enough), but for some reason, the ECM is out of time, like maybe a sheared pin, it would still make sense for it to run off external fuel - if the injectors aren't injecting at the right time, or not at all due...

Need help with a LB7 / LBZ conversion truck in SW NY state.

Flow rate programming started with the LBZ. I should also add that if the flow rates don't match in the ECM and GPCM (such as due to an ECM swap), you'll get a DTC about it, and even if the flow rates aren't programmed right at all or just don't match, I don't THINK that'll prevent the truck...
