    It's a waste of time. There is nothing gained. There is one pseudo-solid reason for doing it. It prevent a runaway engine if Jiffy Lube puts 18 quarts in your crank case.

    If you have a boost leak, your MAF should be higher than the boost/rpm equation. Also, it will show up as a wide disparity, boost at outlet (COP) will be much higher than at MAP sensor.

    This is my perception of analysis also, early warning of failed components. The dissolved elements, as far as i know, don't harm the oil itself (your explanation notwithstanding), but I am probably wrong.
