    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

Truck looks really good! How do you think those tires will wear under load from your trailer in the heat of the highway?

    Kodiak head gaskets

I've seen it done in the truck, I believe they lowered the engine. We lifted the cab on my 07 to swap injectors. We didn't pull it all the way off but cant imagine its worse than a pickup the wiring is very well laid out on the passenger side. Good Luck!

    Turbo Response time

I don't think I was clear. I have a turbo brake switch on the dash stock, however lots of guys that tune Kodiaks turn the turbo brake on full time but at like 10% effectiveness. My question is if my Vains are always going from turbo brake to positive pressure all the time if its slowing down...

    Turbo Response time

My current Kodiak tune from PPEI has the exhaust brake on all the time in a low level but since any adjustments of the throttle invokes the exhaust brake i feel like the truck is no longer able to predict van position since it spends all its time preparing to stop the truck when I lift off the...

LLY: Billet Valve Covers With O-Ring Thread

The other option is to drill out the npt and go straight thread AN and ORB and use a crush seal washer under it. For the best flowing ORB's Aeromotive are the way to go.

    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

I wonder if you friend could figure out how to do the tap shift for the 06+ Kodiak. One guy is supposed to have it on a 5 speed truck but nothing on a 6 speed truck yet.:hello: How heavy is your trailer again?

    Reuse crank and rods?

I have my old motor I have been tossing around the idea of having machined .020 over to fix the spot from the broken piston, and build it up. My question is can I reuse the crank and the rods if they are ok? 225k on everything my thought was to reuse them and put in some delipped lb7 pistons.

Why are compounds good for towing?

Yeah any place with 113* outside temps I don't need to be. :roflmao: I don't have a problem slowing down in temps that hot.

Why are compounds good for towing?

Some good points. Will be interesting to see what others feel like. I have tried to combat heat as it is by adding a secondary oil cooler and going to the biggest Kodiak IC and Radiator GM made for them. My truck alone weighs right about 11k so with the car in the trailer we are right about...

Why are compounds good for towing?

No problem I am just hear to learn. If it made more sense to upgrade the valley charger at the same time I did want to hear about it. My goal is to increase the towing performance while keeping the egts down. Along with doing something a little more unique on a Kodiak.

Why are compounds good for towing?

ATP would be the choice in my case they are 8hrs away, I have always had all my cars dyno tuned in the past. In this case it sounds like it might be a smart thing to do since there is not a lot of compounded Kodiaks running around.

Why are compounds good for towing?

Ok, so coming from "gas" land this is all very interesting and makes sense on many levels. So if i wanted to get the best best running truck after doing compounds ill need to get it on a dyno and have it tuned it sounds like.

Why are compounds good for towing?

So, it seems to be a general consensus the compounds are the best setup for a truck that tows and wants more power while towing. Now my question why/how? When you make more power you need to add more fuel and air right? So you do this by adding more boost. More boost and more fuel creates...

    2007 Kodiak tuning

I just had a tune done on mine, the biggest thing I would say the truck needs is remapping the transmission if its a 6 speed. It will go into 6th so fast the truck seems to just run hot. I just changed my TCM tuning back from Stock 6speed to more of a 5 speed with a OD type setup and it...

    OD Lockout Switch Kodiak

4th just seems to much for my truck, too many rpms 5th would be ideal for the ground speed. Ill have to look into doing a Tap Shift on the Kodiak. We have heard of one that has it, but sounds like its not a 6 speed truck.

    OD Lockout Switch Kodiak

Is there a way to program the OD Lockout switch found on the Kodiaks to lockout 6th? They work great if you have a 5 speed it holds you in forth but if you have a 6 speed 4th is too much. If not I guess the solution would be to play with my shift points to move 6th out farther.
