    Truck died while towing

Hmmm...where did the ground break? Did the terminal rip off? Did it look like the wires were run tightly that might have stressed it? I always replace any ground terminals that look suspect. It would be a good idea to clean the block too, where the ground attaches. You dont need a terminating...

    2017 Duramax

Crapping on a truck and fully dismissing everything that GM has put millions of dollars into before anyone has even driven one? Cool, good job guys. Ben

    2017 Duramax

:secret: Thats good to hear, I assume Ford's numbers on the 2017+ super duty caught them by surprise... (440/925)

LMM: LMM with 222,000 tear down rebuild

Uh, yeah, coincidence because they bumped the output up 60hp. 17-18:1 with 410rwhp and your tuning (who knows what that looks like) is a terrible idea regardless of anything else.

That doesnt really mean much without actually seeing the map. 23* with only 1700uS is quite aggressive if you ask me. Good luck. Ben

LMM: LMM with 222,000 tear down rebuild

overloading the truck? Abusing it/driving hard? tuning? I have no idea. If I were you I probably would have gone to a class 4/5 medium duty about 3 engines ago, but thats just me. And stock tuning. 410rwhp, loading it to within ounces of whats max-legal weight, and driving the balls off of it...

    2.8L Canyon Test Toy

I assume you had to do some work outside of EFILive to get the deletes working properly? Or did you start with a deleted base file from someone else?

LMM: LMM with 222,000 tear down rebuild

Im just saying, after one engine assembled with pistons backwards/wrong side, and now messed up rings...Im confused why you havent been following the duramax service/assembly manual to a T. Assembly errors aside, what does your tuning actually look like? Im honestly just curious.

LMM: LMM with 222,000 tear down rebuild

I was talking about ruining ENGINES.... How about in the Duramax service/rebuild manual? I usually consult that when Im assembling a Duramax engine. And if you search, there are plenty of threads on here regarding ring alignment. Im pretty sure Fingers even told you specifically how to align...

LMM: LMM with 222,000 tear down rebuild

Adam why are you so hung up on/worried about cam selection when you cant even keep an engine in the truck? Something has to be going wrong here for you to keep ruining them. Whats the common thread with all of the engines? :hmm:

    2017 Duramax

lol, you guys think these trucks are expensive now.....then you want to add a second diesel engine option!?!?! That literally costs millions of dollars to just add another engine option to a vehicle platform.....oh and that doesnt include the cost of designing that engine in the first place...

LMM: What sounds systems is everyone running?

You'll want to get 2 ohm aftermarket speakers if replacing the factory Bose door speakers and otherwise keeping the Bose amp and stuff. The stock Bose speakers are somewhere around 3 ohms...so if you go up to a typical 4 ohm aftermarket speaker, it will be a little quieter....so if you're...

    NP246/266 custom build

Awesome thread Chris! Ive gotten a huge kick out of following it. Very cool, badass work on figuring all of this stuff out and making the custom parts to fit extra clutches etc. Also good to see that the clutches are holding up and the encoder motor is doing its job properly.

    2016 2500HD DMAX Steering woes-

The service manual doesnt make any mention of "active steering" capability, and I havent seen any documentation from GM indicating their system in the 2016+ HD's has the capability. Im sure it could be added though, as you said, through spool valves to direct hydraulic fluid at the input shaft...

    2016 2500HD DMAX Steering woes-

2016+ model year only. And it depends on the cab config too. I think regular cabs still dont have it. Its not "optional" either...basically what determines if your truck comes with it is what cab config the truck is.

    Taking auto-pilot literally?

How do you know when "some of the pilots are run the controls" and when its on autopilot??? (I have my pilots license and its still hard for me to tell when im flying as a passenger on a commercial airliner) Some commercial pilots hand-fly the entire flight, FYI. Obviously its...

    Taking auto-pilot literally?

Oh, what, and the high school girl playing candy crush on her phone while driving DOESNT make you want bigger bumpers? Come on man. Ever ridden on an airplane before? A highway full of Teslas on autopilot, or a highway full of ditzy idiots with 2 years of driving experience under their...
