Hello,
Finally hopping into the forums. Been coming here for years, just never created an account. a bit about me and what I'm doing: I currently have 2 truck projects going, working on them as time and money permits. First project is my 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with the LLY Duramax Crew Cab Short Bed LS trim model. 2nd owner, bought at 133k. Was bone stock other than Dick Cepek wheels and and a Cold air intake. Trucks currently at 190k with the following mods:
- Cold Air Intake, amazon mouthpiece
- Stainless diesel 65/67mm 10 blade VGT turbo
- Pusher Y bridge/ Cold side pipe kit; LB7 up pipe
- 4" exhaust turbo back to an 8" tip
- PCV reroute
- BD Diesel Rail Plug
- New FPR
- FASS 165
- PPEI tuning w/ DSP-5, PPEI trans tuning
- Larger trans cooler
- Edge CTS -3 with EGT probe tapped into passenger side manifold
- The usual cosmetics ( headlights, tail lights, cab lights, mirrors, etc. - all amazon)
- 2015 8x180 chevy take offs- 20x9's - on 33x12.50x20 RT's ; 2" rear adapters, 1.5" front adapters.
Aspirations, plans for the future:
Currently planning the project out in phases. Currently planning cosmetic work ( have a new bed; need to fix rockers/ CC, install bed and either paint/ wrap the truck). Once cosmetic work is complete, I plan on installing:
PHASE 1:
- Built transmission
- 100% Injectors
- 10mm CP3
- Conservative tune revision to implement torque management and steady tune progression profile. Plan is to cap power/ tq at roughly 600 HP/ 1050ft lbs. I want a steady daily 450 ish tune, and a rowdy hot tune withing reason.
- gaskets/studs
PHASE 2 ( still somewhat fluid on part options):
- Obtain a block and sending off to machine shop. Recieve block back and install:
- Callies Compstar Crank; keyed
- Callies compstar rods
- Dans pistons
- Callies alternate fire camshaft
- ARP hardware
- New heads/ gaskets/studs
May go S467.7 eventually. Being that I've had the VGT for about a year, I want to get the most out of it. Have also considered going compounds. End goal is solid, reliable 7-800 hp.

My other truck is an 03 sierra 1500 SLT 5.3 that I've pushed to 413k. In the process of doing a restore on it, as it is sentimental. I may put a cold air intake on it eventually, but it eats 4L60E's as is ( on its 3rd one), so it doesn't need any more power. Want to restore it back to basically a factory truck to go on sunday drives with and un- 20 year old it lol Glad to be here!
