Crap I wish I knew about the rear seat. I picked one up last month out of a 1500, while I do have a 2500 that's in vinyl that I originally thought was leather. Can't believe I didn't notice the frame was different. Unfortunately I'll have to do some swapping on the seat frame. I can't complain since I picked up the front and rear seats along with the center console that I don't need and a kick panel for $200 with the wiring as mine currently is manual seats. 2500 on left and 1500 on right.

All good.

I am trying to find exactly what i was looking at. It could have been there lesser rated set up. Says its like 2100lbs the other may have been the helwig set up.

Sadly though, it looks like I could just buy different new leaf packs with a higher rating for the same or less....
Or go to a spring shop and have them make you up new ubolts and a couple of extra leaves. I did that on a few trucks that were saggy, lol. It lasted longer than a re-arch and was cheap.

If it's even money though, I'd do the SS for the advantages over just more leaf pack.

Only Shop I know in the area is Deaver... I see a little sag in mine but I think that's because of how bad the axle wraps in these trucks.

So IIRC. Mine is 4+1 CCSB rear leaf. I don't know the weight rating on the OE but I see Husky and Daytona have some options.

Looks like a replacement 4/1 Pack is 2025LB

They have a 5/1 Pack that is 2235LB and a Thicker one that is 2600LB.

When I was at the junk yard, I was 1/2 tempted to take the 3500 rear leaf's but I didn't realise you can not mount the over load brackets on a short bed frame. and the drive side one looked fairly saggy compared to the passenger side. The 3500 had a 5/1 with a over load on top

Tick tick tick tick… without re-hashing the drama, I knew that it was valve tick. :( Looks to be ok though. Gonna run the valves and then onto the rear end issue.

Adjusted and quiet. Also did a little upgrade while she was apart. Quick test spin was much cleaner at the tailpipe and very responsive.

Since I got it back on the road, it’s mostly been hooked to a dump trailer, as I’m working on the Ponderosa here lol. Response continues to impress, and fingers crossed but the fuel needle isn’t moving as quickly, so hopefully my bad mpg has improved as well. Smoke output is thankfully less as well.

No time yet. A neighbor decided to sic the zoning officer on me for a rabbit hutch too close to their property line. Hutch has been there for 15 years and they’ve lived there for 5, and they never said a word… it’s actually worse overall, but that’s enough OT for now.

On topic: I loaded up 8yds of mulch in the hydraulic dump trailer today. Towing wasn’t super heavy, but wow is this setup good! Cleaner and snappy response.

Weekend after this maybe I’ll be able to get my rear in shape. lol

Other side this time.

I’m thinking those shock extenders are putting too much leverage on the mount. Dunno.

Rough week. Inspector due today for the house.

I’ll have to decide to either box them in, make new stronger ones, or maybe fabricate one piece stronger ones that have the extenders built in.

Similar to the other side’s failure from last year.

Look at that rust where it broke. Those were cracked for a while, and the right one had broken. Sure you've got the correct length shocks for the application?
