Thought I had pictures but I guess not. So here we go. I don't ever remember it closing so nice! I guess I have been dealing with it so long on all my trucks I forgot how nice it could be.

I just ordered all new stuff myself. Truck is 19 years old with the OEM hardware. Its time to replace it. I always had a tough time opening it.

Right on! I wasn't happy about the tailgate falling down and loosing the stuff out the back of my bed. Just glad it happened where it did. No damage to other cars or people. I can fix my stuff or throw it in the gutter and go get another... lol

Dam. $30 for the striker bolts? 11570162. What the heck!

It's the only thing I didn't order, but I see the plastic bushing is falling apart on one side.

Well, I got mine through the dealer... But The aftermarket ones look similar. I see you can get 2 for 1/2 the price of 1 OEM. I would be curious to see if they are any good. Look up the OE part number on Ebay, I didn't check the jungle site...

Dorman number is 38427 and I see some of the other no Name over seas brands using that number as an interchange.

TS001 China supplier's and they say 38427 and or 11570162 interchange. as low as 9.99 for a 2 pack

On Summit the Dorman's are only $6.99 each but for some reason the local parts stores want almost $20 each...

Like you, I chose to go with oem striker bolts since it lasted this long. Found a set on eBay for the price of one. The tailgate operates so much better now. I went with an aftermarket metal handle latch and it feels nice and solid. Not like to oem plastic one that flexes.

Geez where to begin.

Picked up an 06 LBZ in November to use as a tow pig. 175k miles and is in good shape. Came from western Idaho, a place in which no salt is used. Rockers are solid, the only thing is the doors are showing a bit of rust at the seams but nothing crazy.

Over the last few months it’s had an MBRP exhaust, SDP Twins goodies, PVC reroute, Wherli thermostat housing, and broke out the V2 and did some tinkering.

Over the last few days:

PPE oil pan
Air Dog 4G 100
Saddle seat covers

Now I am chasing a coolant leak that has been a pain in my ass for the last couple weeks.
Have pressure tester coming to get it found.

Changed out the interior bulbs. The Door lights have been out since probably 2015 . Took 5mins to do all 4 of them.

Changed out the front dome lights with LED, had to modify the silver reflector. Works well, although I’ve noticed they don’t always turn on when the buttons are pressed. They always work when the driver turn dial is pushed all the way up…. Might go back to incandescents.

Lights it up though. Feels good to have the door light on and clean up that visual.

Serviced the rear axle today.
Found the coolant leak…water pump weep hole.
Ordered a genuine GM with new o rings and gaskets. Got a replacement bolt for the balancer, which I need to ask, with 175k on the ODO, should I replace the balancer?

Don't really need to reply the balancer..
This makes tightening the balancer bolt substantially easier.

The OEM is TTY style bolt..
The ARP bolt #129-2503 is $25-35.00

Thanks Adam.
I found the Lisle kit that had the flywheel tool and a 36mm socket.
Picked up a cheap 3/4 breaker bar and 100-600# torque wrench and gave her hell. Job went smooth, just amazed at the amount of shit you take off to get to the pump itself. Got it all buttoned up and vac tested the system and then vac-filled it.
