I've searched and haven't found much, just looking for some tips/tricks on installing 2" rear drop shackles.

Thanks

Drop the hitch, jack ass end up tires 2' in the air, jack stands under frame under cab, let back end down, need to completely unload rear suspension but still hold it with floor jack. Removed lower shackle bolt, can be a slut depending if rust is there, use pb blaster, then remove top shackle bolts, raise floor jack until leaf eyes hit the bottom of the bed, reach over frame rail and remove upper stock shackle bolts, reassemble in reverse order.

I had the bed off my half ton when I did mine. It's a 99 that I bought in Colorado, lots of rusted bolts underneath. I had to beat the shit out of the shackle bolts to get them out, then once they started moving I had to chop off the small hex end since they were mushroomed out so much from all the sledge hammer hits :roflmao:

Did mine on a northern Ontario truck, I saved myself the headache and just bought new spring bushings and burned them out with the trusty smoke wrench and a swing arm press! Took me about an hour and a half total!
