Question for ya, since I would LOVE to do this to my 69 burb sometime.. Which way was easier/ better, using the original 67-72 frame or using the newer chassis?

Are you planning to integrate the abs into the blazer? Just wondering how your going to keep all the bells and lights off in the cluster.

Damn... That all fits in there just like it belongs. Nice :thumb:
Hope to see it out and about this summer when I'm up visiting family in the Elburn area.
Give me a shout. I will bring my truck out or the blazer.

Vintage air system?
Yes it a vintage air.

Using the newer chassis was by far easier to do.

Yes the ABS should work since all the computers are still hooked up and all the abs system is still intact. Not sure what bells and lights you are talking about since everything is still hooked up as it was in the 06. Mark from Danville will be tuning it and he can shut the security system and egr system off with EFILive.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

That's cool your still using abs! If you weren't using it I was wondering how you were going to shut everything off on the cluster such as abs light & brake warning light, plus the service brake system message. However if your leaving all that stuff on there you should have a problem.

Very cool project and awesome execution!

Damn! That thing is gonna be nice! Your dad wouldn't want to trade that blazer for an 07 classic with an lbz and straight axle, would he? :D

We got busy last year at work and this build got stuck on the back burner. My truck went to the Wagler Competition Show two weeks ago so we had an empty bay at work. We brought the blazer in to start working on it. I'm not going to be racing in the next few month because my wife and I had a little girl last Wednesday and I'm going to take some time off and spend it with my family. Without me racing my truck I will have time to work on the blazer.

Here in the last two weeks we got all air charge piping done. The exhaust is just about done. The body is on and all the suspension is just about done. My dad has been working on getting the interior back together and looking nice. We're hoping to have it on the road by the end of July.

I will try and upload some picture's today. I don't have any really good ones yet.

Here are some more. We still need to take all the piping off and have it powder coated. All the exhaust still needs to be ceramic coated.

Damn man, what a nice truck! How did you create that cluster pod? It looks like it came that way from GM.

Drive shaft angle is good when on the ground.

Thanks!!

Lots of time and lots of fiberglass resin. Fill with resin / sand it down, it took about 30-40 Hrs.

Thanks Zane!! Any chance you will be at any diesel events with your stuff this year? Looking forward to seeing your truck and the rail out sometime.

Pretty sweet build. Are you going to use the safety restraints (airbags) as well? If not how will you disable the airbag message on the dic?
IfI want to do this with my 82 and like the idea of just a body swap on to the hd chassis/driveline. Just not sure if I want abs/airbags since mine is primarily a mud/trail play toy.

Looks great Brett, and congrats on the new baby. I haven't finished my project yet, and not even close to where you and your Dad have that Blazer. You fellows do great work.
