I would imagine that truck would have done even better at a stock ride height too. Certainly proved a lot of people wrong that doubted that a significantly lifted truck could take the win, I was one

I guess if I get selected we'll see what a small town truck with a small town Diesel Performance Shop can do against the big boys.

agreed. if i get to go to this I will make no changes to my truck other than the new turbos and injectors ( which have been in the works since before this). I was going to tare my block apart and look at it but its been runing fine for a while now. I can imagine other people will be going over board but i'm pretty much done with my truck... untill something breaks lol

No one is sayin its anything special. It takes tons of money, we all know that. It takes being consistant, we all know that. But theres tons of high hp trucks to watch. If u win or lose it means about as much as puttin 11.8 in there sig. My point is=wining dpc or running 11.8 in a 1/4 means nothing. Its just for fun.
A "typically" significantly lifted truck generally does not do well. A proper 4 link shouldn't matter what height (stock or otherwise) it's at as long as it was designed for it (one nice thing about a 4 link).
I would bet dollars to donuts that the custom 4 links are what won the competition for him. That suspension was well engineered and well built (kudos to the builder). It was a solid truck with good HP, but there were trucks with more. It seemed like every event he was able to get all his ponies to the ground which helps in trailer tow, trailer manuevering, drag racing, and sled pull (a majority of the points events). If it had been on stock lifted suspension, I don't think he would have faired as well.
He has an amazing truck and I would take it in a heartbeat and he did his homework, so not trying to dog it.
I believe his suspension was completely custom, not really indicative of what most Fords (and/or any truck with stock style suspension) would do. I would feel the same if it was a GM on 4 link front and rear too.

I know what your sayin. Sure it could be alot better competition. I just like seein all the different set ups and nice trucks. And im always rootin for a dmax to win just for shits.

Elite Diesel built Erik's truck. They did awesome work and are a great bunch of guys to compete with. They helped out Justin Bibby too when he lost his headgasket when ATS told him "tough sh*t". Erik knew how to drive very well, he was calm and collected through the whole event, and didn't have to mess with the truck much between events. That truck is the epitome of a DPC competitor, hands down.
