Rocking 275k+ now! 277,649 at my last fillup, but no pic of that. Should hit 300k around summer 2013.

Crazy that the top 10 trucks make up 3.5 million miles! Also, are #9 and #11 the same truck?

How many miles can you get out of a duramax

I own a 2006 Gmc Savana with the 6.6 Duramax and it hass 200,000 miles on the odometer.. I just bought a cabin in Upstate NY for hunting/snow mobiling. In 3 years I'll have my loan paid off for the cabin then I'm going to look for a 4x4. My van will have around 300,000 miles, is that too many miles to convert my van into a 4x4. I work for a Messenger Company and I need a van for work. If I bought a new van to convert it the price for the van will be around 45,000 or more with the conversion. If I bought a used van I'm looking at 20,000 to 30,000 and the mileage around 100,000 or more. I'm not going to use the van on the beach or rock climbing or anything that stressful on the engine or tranny. I just need it for the snow traction. It would cost me between 9,000 to 10,000 to convert the van. As of now the van is perfect. I still have the orig. tranny, just 1 glow plug change at 100,00 miles, use Mobil 1 oil with Amsoil Oil Filters with the Dual Oil Filter, changed tranny fluid every 30,000 miles, change air filter every 30,000 miles change fuel filters every 15,000 miles I changed the rear axle fluid at 60,000 miles with Amsoil Severe Gear Fluid.
What is the most miles did someone get out of a Duramax Engine?
Is there any way a mechanic could check to see the condition of the engine/tranny to see roughly how strong they still are performing? Any kind of stress test for the engine/tranny to see how they perform?

Vans RULE!:happy2:

A new dmax van starts at almost 45k. Then add the conversion costs.

Send in an oil sample for analysis as a "check up" on you engine.

Ever thought of putting some good snow tires on it?

My old mans Lilly is pushing 250k. Has had a 100hp superchips tune for 245k. Original brakes and the only thing he has replaced is a water pump.
