More people quit looking for a job and are not being counted by obama. The true unemployment number is between 10 and 15%.

MIke is correct..

What about the people working overtime for free, extra days and doing two people's jobs for the same pay because they are afraid to get fired or replaced?

LoL.. Unemployment is down???? Really? :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

I bet the American $ is up too???

Im not into the conspiracy theroy or anything like that, BUT, im not so sure the people have the power that we think we do, in our vote that is. I have asked, seriously 1000 people since obama was elected, who did you vote for? Now i know people are not always honest, and with that being said.... not one person has admitted to me that they voted for him?

This is somewhat true, but in my experience only true to the extent that people that abuse the system do it because of their own sense of entitlement.

I would like to correct one part: unemployment has gone down, not up, steadily since he's been in office.

Actually it went up, despite the "stimulus" then started to come down some. It is still higher then Obama claimed it would go if we passed his porkulous bill.

We will have to agree to disagree then because if a person who only has $1 and he gives a dime he only has $.90 left, having much less to work with. Common sense shows that if a person earns less its more difficult to donate because his wages are the means by which he puts fuel in his car to get to work so he can do it again the following week. A person who is independently wealthy donate even 25% is effected less because he has more coin to work with and is less dependent upon the next market share, dividend, or contribution. The CEO of the company that I now work for received a $15,000,000 bonus this past year while he wanted to cut wages for the employees in Joliet, Illinois because of what he called "fair market equivalent wages" (and Romney has the same attitude). With no overtime wages included, he could have payed the equivalent of my wages to 200-250 workers for a full year. That's the difference in giving 10% of what I make and give, as opposed to what he makes and gives.

I'll agree to disagree. :thumb: Just as long as we all get out and vote! Remember your local Govt. Officials are as or more important than the presidential elections! I make an effort to talk to my local govt. officials at least twice a year. Just talked with my senator for 3 hrs last week.

I think no president should be eligible for a second term. As soon as a candidate has won presidency, they are worried about getting re elected for a second term. So their whole first term is spent thinking of ways they can make themselves look good to the majority of the people. If we dropped the second term bullshit, I feel like the lies and empty promises would go away too. Leaving the president to do what they were elected to do, run a country, not try to become more popular.

Amen never thought of that!!!!:thumb:

I'd believe many asked won't answer honestly because they know that they will probably be asked why or have to explain their choice but cannot more or less they bought into some dream that things were going to be a whole lot different ,CHANGE, but yet it's just more of the same and for the most part worse!

In reality although our votes are part of the electoral college vote that actually elects the president not the popular vote. So in a way our system is flawed. This could possibly be part of the apathy of not voting. IMO the president should be elected by the popular vote basically eliminate the electoral college.

Why?

IDK which I would want choosing the vote, dumb Americans, or wealthy politicians looking at the end goal.

Apathetic generation, checking in. :D

If you want to alter the electoral college in a way that each congressional district is tallied for the Presidential Votes and that districts votes go to the candidate that won that district.

If you look at a Map of the USA it's a Red Country/Red States for the most part........if they awarded the states electoral college votes based on the per districts breakdown we would never see another Democrat elected to the white house.

This is the exact reason why a Parlimentary system works better in many ways.

I find it funny how we fight over this, the average American is too stupid and lazy to get the right person in. Republicans tend to be tied into big business and democrats are tied in with the unions. To get anywhere you have to grease so many hands that you owe so many favors to get to that point there is no such thing as getting someone that isn't a politician in office. Plain and simple. Socialism either turns a country into a government that has total control or a people that are lazy and that collapse. Just look around at other governments that have tried it. The average person is lazy when it comes to handouts, so either the government has the ability to tell the person to do what it wants or you have capitalism that says if you don't go out and get it, well you don't get it.<O:p</O:p
People that try to use how rich Romeny is are fing retarded, he was smart enough to do something with his money, not squander it away. He is smarter than you, get over it. I don’t need tax returns to know that. I hope that he is smart enough to help our mess out. <O:p</O:p
Regardless if you think we should have went to Iraq, it was a huge mistake to leave just when the job was almost finished. After all that shit, and all the money and lives we spent over there we just left the Iraqis that were working with us hanging, way to not see the job though but that is the American way/<O:p</O:p
Also, looking at the future budget cuts on defense after the first of the year, thanks to our great current president and congress to pay for this Medicare and welfare, well I would invest in rosetta stone, since we will no longer be the super power we are in a few years. <O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

Bottom line, to get to the level that you need to be to run for office you have to be a politician, if you wait for someone who isn’t a politician don’t hold your breath. Or maybe you should hold your breath and do the rest of us a favor. <O:p</O:p
I bet at least 90% of the “rich” people got there because they are smarter than you dumb fks, get over it.<O:p</O:p
Socialism only works if the government has total control and doesn’t have to worry about pissing people off by telling them they are not getting welfare, they are going to work in the coal mines. Voting has to go away otherwise it is just who can buy the most votes wins and we go further into debt and can’t support ourselves as a whole.

I will add in that capitalism needs its checks and balances as well, and that we do need the antitrust laws to keep a select few from running away with everything. I will always say that it is better to swing in the favor of capitalism over socialism

Since everyone is sharing opinions, I'm quoting this statement as being in the top five of stupidest statements that I have ever read on this forum. I never thought I would write anything of a political nature on this forum, but since it's been brought up...I'm not at all saying that my vote will go to Obama, however, the way that see it is he has brought our men and women back from Iraq and has begun the process in Afghanistan. He has helped introduce a better type of health care for those that need the benefit of having to have insurance. My daughter received a triple organ transplant when she was 4 years old. My insurance didn't cover the cost because she had met a lifetime-maximum already, two years previous to her transplant. If it were not for any social programs whatsoever, she wouldn't have received the transplant probably. She has insurance now because the healthcare bill took away preexisting conditions and lifetime maximums. And yes, she'll be on medications for the rest of her life, of which I could never afford out of my pocket every month. Is the bill perfect? By no means, but it's a good start. It's great that people believe that they can make it "by themselves" in this world and not "be given anything.". However, I can just about be for certain that most have not been faced with a circumstance of being in dire need, having to humiliate themselves to ask for help. Another thing that Obama has tried to do is introduce legislation for change and has been blocked by republicans more often than not, and they bitch and whine saying Obama isn't doing anything to change America. Next, he helped save what is left of the auto industry in America. If you don't agree, so be it. I don't like how it took place and some of the bs inside of the whole thing; however, GM and Chrysler are still alive and employ loads of people making a fair wage. Lastly, the economy, as far as market numbers and employment goes, is way up from when douchebag Bush Jr. left the mound of shit he created. If you enjoyed the wonderful opportunities that Jr. gave you with the nepotistic failure of what he called a domestic policy, you'll most certainly love lining the pockets of the Republican elitist when you vote for the man who won't provide his income tax return to the public.
Well said,no Obama fan here but i feel Mitt will bury us worse id like to see Ron Paul in myself

This is a problem Jmaz. If you dont vote for someone then that just gives obama the upper hand. Lots of people like you are the same way but if you do some research you should vote! If you dont like either candidate you dont just NOT vote you vote for the party you belive in democrat or republican wheteher or not you like the actual person on the podium. Are you happy with the anti christ in office now? If you are vote for him if not vote the other way. You dont have to like anyone just vote vote vote for who you hate the least:D
Im not for dems or the Repubs since the dems want to give our money to people that dont want to work and repubs Want an extra tax if they make over 200 gs give me a break!!!!

Someone explain to me how the rich get richer at the hands of the poor?
Every American was born with equal rights. Some choose to strive and obtain wealth, others are ok with being average. You cannot sit there and say that the guy, who has woken up at 5:30am every morning, and gone to work all day constantly striving to better his business, needs to share his earning with those that chose to drop out of high school and refuse to get a job.

Wealthy people are wealthy for a reason. They have made sacrifices that others have not, they have taken financial risks that other wouldn't. How does it make sense that the people in the top 5% of the tax bracket, account for over 60% of the money the federal government gets from taxes? Are you kidding me???the top 15% of tax payers only pay 17% or less because the get so many tax breakes and tax shelters.Lets level the playing feild and have a flat tax.Id love to pay only 17% instead of 35.Give me an extra tax break because i made 45 gs

Obama shares the exact same anti-colonial views as his father. He believes Americans are no better than anyone else (despite our god given rights). He doesnt believe in the same ideals that our founding fathers believed in. He pushes equality. America is not about being equal, its about being free to strive and prosper without being held back by big government.
I know of some fat cat bussinesses that havent given raises in 5 years and use the econemy as an excuss but there business has almost doubled ??????

Amen man!

My mother got sick several months ago. She was hospitalized for 6 days. When i saw the bill that the hospital was going to send the insurance company, i shit a brick. Her 6 day stay costed $53,000. Once the hospital found out that my mom did not have insurance, and was private pay, the bill was magically $14,000. Thats the problem with our healthcare system.
And this is why my medical has gone up 80% in the last 5 years medical is such a scam.

I think no president should be eligible for a second term. As soon as a candidate has won presidency, they are worried about getting re elected for a second term. Hell if slick Willie would have been able to take a 3rd term he would have been elected IMO

As another outsider watching, one of the biggest problems I see in US politics is the enormous amount of money people are allowed to make as campaign contributions. If every politician is someones whore nothing will ever change.
For sure.Lobiest and special intrest should be lined up and shot.We put peple in office for their beliefs,Not what a certain company or person can get them to believe in.

I know that I was gonna say the same thing if I received a response. Problem is there is **** tards out there that believe or think he did especially when you have blow hards like Biden running his direaha mouth. If you dont think for a minute the pres can have a meeting with is highest military comander and say i want this problem dealt with that its not gonna happen your sorely mistaken. Now thats not to say it may have been for a reelection run but he still got rid of the problem.

Also politicians filthy rich or not have the best medical insurance for life that can be had so they have nothing to worry about! So true

Unemployment numbers are bullshit! What about the people who have ran out of benefits? They have disappeared. Also the MAJORITY of the hiring has NOT BEEN IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR! But by our government and that cost the general public a lot of money for a very long time. That and you can never get rid of them.
I work for a natural gas company,i turn people off for credit and i turn them back on and i talk to alot of people all day long and i can tell amounts owed and how long its been off and this i can tell you people are getting jobs and getting things paid down.I am also turning off alot less vacant homes (foreclosed or bank owned). I talk to the bank reps when they meet me to do a t on for prospective buyers and i talk to them about the amount of foreclosures and sales of homes and it is getting better, not by leaps and bounds but it is.

MIke is correct..

What about the people working overtime for free, extra days and doing two people's jobs for the same pay because they are afraid to get fired or replaced? This sucks and sometimes its done to stay competitive in the market and sometimes done to make the CEO a ton more money. If you saw the money my company directors made from our company its stagering and part of that is because we as emploies are the lowest paid in all of Ill.

LoL.. Unemployment is down???? Really? :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

I voted for Obama because he said he would bring jobs back to America (my wifes areo space job went to signapore)That jack ass hasnt brought anything back.NAFTA has destroyed America along with to easy to get credit. This country would be alot better off if we went back a 6 shooter on your hip and no credit CASH ONLY save for it if you want it bad enough.

:thumb: thanks for sharing. Romney is not the best thing for this country, but being who is in office, he is IMO the only choice right now. I will vote for capitalism anyday over socialism. Some of y'all need to look at the tea party members. We have one over here, Rand Paul, that is not a career politician and he has tried to pass a bill that would limit congress to 1 term. I don't think he is much of a bs'er either.
