Random WTF is wrong with people.

Just got the kids to bed. Sitting on my couch, just about 3 sips into my glass of Buffalo Trace and there’s a quick 5 knocks on my front door. House is dark, one strand of Christmas lights over the garage. I sit in the dark next to the fake fire and drink my evening glass or two and just take a minute.

Keep in mind this is 9:15pm. Very not normal in my area.
Me being me.. I grab my pew pew off the kitchen table and go to the door. Not a soul around. Random 2010 white Impala LTZ sitting at the corner of my yard.
Wait a minute and open the door to go out and get the keys out of my wife’s rig like I do at bedtime.

There’s a fresh red apple on the door step, upside down.

What the actual fuck.

After getting the keys I grab a plastic bag, pick up the apple like dog poop and take it to the outside trash can.. Impala drives back by..

Haven’t seen them again.
You want another WTF is wrong with people... While we were out of town a few weeks ago, at about 1 in the afternoon on a Saturday, some creep pulls up in front of our house after turning around (we're on a private, dead end street), he gets out of his beat up and pretty identifable pos Nissan, takes pictures of our vehicles that were present, then proceeds up onto our front porch and takes some sort of weird picture of his hand and some part of our front door... Local police said no crime committed, can't go for stalking because that requires intent on specific people, yet we were the only house he stopped at on the street as far as we can tell.... Seems pretty targeted or specific... Also said taking pictures isn't a crime citing public space, but IMO, when you cross from public space (street, which is debatable considering our street isn't exactly public) onto private property, that changes things.

Wish I had a LPR camera up as I would have gotten his plate and we'd know who he is. He better never come back, but if he does and I'm here, he'll be detained to explain himself to the police and I'll have a 'friend' in case he does something stupid.

I REALLY want to know who this creep is, why he was taking pictures of our house and vehicles, and what he was doing with them and/or who he was texting them to (from the video, it looks like after he took each pic, he texted it somewhere).

Thieves. They were checking if anyone was home. Be wary. Make sure to lock garages, outbuildings and vehicles.

Santa isnt the only stranger that comes around this month. December thieves are becoming more brazen the last few years bc police dont do much to find them, and if they do then prosecutors dont jail them.

Everything is locked, alarmed, videoed, you can't get near my house without being caught on at least two cameras. And breach the house and the alarm will send alerts all over the place in addition to making a racket that the neighborhood can hear... Word on the street here is he's been seen at houses in the area, more than once at at least one house, and may also be a suspected peeping Tom in a nearby area....

@Cougar281 look up "curtilage"
Hampton law firm as a couple YT video. And several others.

Basically anything that is in plain sight from a public spot isn't protected, and cops exploit the shit out of it.. this is includes yard, front porch etc.

Now, if you had a 7' fence with a gate (bushes/shrubs don't count) that reasonably blocks ease of visibility/access to anything inside now that's a completely different legal situation.

USA vs Dunn

Adam, I always thought of it as, "You bought something online that requires it be delivered, so that gives me, as the delivery person, permission to safely come onto your property to do my job". I used to use that line when talking to people about their dogs.

Pretty much, you're allowed up the controlled access point.. most places that's ones front door. And then turn frame is basically what it takes an avg human to walk up knock 1-2 times reasonable wait time for occupants to respond if the choose to then promptly leave

Now setting a apple on a porch at the end of a dead end road and watching from public access point.. is definitely unusual and possibly suspicious but not technically illegal.
Same thing applies to windows that are easily looked into.

Employees kid just being a kid.

Pulled into a truck stop this morning found this... Hurricane likes to advertise the amount of chicken lights they got on a truck and the fact they don't have 2 trucks with same paint scheme...
They should take some of that money and invest into a properly setup truck and driver training....
But it does look good sitting in two ice holes
ICC bumper is on the ground and wheels stuffed in the trailer... Odds are good they don't even have a PDL.(Which locks front rear axles together like a transfer case

My wife and I always say we can never do anything the easy way. So my son won't be going I to the hospital on the 9th as planned. Insurance changed on the 1st instead the January like we anticipated. Now we have to resubmit everything. On top of that my kids where not put on my insurance like they should have been. It's a mistake on their part and will be fixed. It's just one more hurdle to overcome. My wife was in tears when we found out. Our saving grace might be for an unknown reason the 2 people scheduled to be released from the hospital today didn't get released. Don't know why or what this means. The hospital will update us on that issue on Monday. Their is a waiting list to get in this hospital. If insurance doesn't approve his stay before another kid is approved my son will lose his spot. Then we wait until another one opens up and get approval again. Which shouldn't be a problem, but that has already happened once before.
