VGT 68mm 9 Blade?

So ive never heard anything good about the 64mm 9 blade, that they arent reliable at all. Now ive been doing some reading up on the 68mm to still make some good power with twins in the future but i also read that it can come in a 9 Blade. I wanting to know if its just the 9 Blade in general that is unreliable or is it just with the 64mm?

So i want yalls opinion on if even though they are obnoxious are they more reliable with a bigger turbo?

The 9 blade is 100% the problem.

What are your HP goals and usages? You can go to something like a JZ Mfg 4094 based 68/68 with like a 485 or 488 over top of it in compounds. That setup is proven to 1000-1200whp on various trucks and still has pretty damn good street manners with proper fueling/converter/tuning.

Oh ok, I’m wanting to get to that 1000hp mark sometime in the future. I was wanting to do the s467 over the s488 but at the same time that’s like the goal in the next 3 years. In the meantime though I want something where the whistle is strong and so is the spool up. I’ve already made the decision on the 67 and 88 for that 3 year mark but like I said I just want something to f around with that has that loud whistle ig

What HP goal do you want for the truck now? If you want good performance (quick spool up) and that whistle sound a JZ Mfg 63.5/66, Fleece Cheetah, or Duramax Tuner Mach 1 are all great choices

I was thinking something that won’t blow up if I get the 88 first so like the 800 mark.

Ok thank you, do you think it would with hold 900 or is 8 the farthest I want to push it. Just incase I get my fuel dialled

I have pushed a 63.5/66 with a 480/96/1.32 over to comfortably to 775-825whp based on track times. Everything "seemed" happy looking at overall boost and drive pressures. I don't see why it couldn't make 850-900whp with a 488 feeding it.
