Congrats to Wade and the Tripplemax Racing Team for a job well done in Canada. Also a big shout out to Chris and the guys at Truck Source Diesel who service and maintain the truck for Wade.
We expected these numbers at the beginning of the season, but Wade's truck has been plagued with non-engine gremlins all year that have prevented the truck from showing it's true potential. As you all know at this power level, getting the trans and converter to live for any length of time has proven difficult. This was the first event of the year where things went relatively smooth.
I think the best part is that the engine has been strong and consistent all year, after every event we retorque the heads, lash the valves, check the compression and load it in the trailer for the next event.
At this event Wade ran:
9.0896 @ 152.18 (Off the trailer)
9.0063 @ 155.01 (Sets the ET record but too fast on the MPH to use the 152 as a backup)
9.2961 @ 154.16 (Turned it up a little and tried for the 8 second pass, spun the tires. but the 154.16 backs up the 155 to set the MPH record)
9.0571 @ 154.64 (Finals race, last race of the day, turned it up a little more to again try for the 8 pass, spun the tires again, almost hit the wall, peddled it and then let it eat.)
At the end of the day, drive it into the trailer and take her home, prep her for the next event.
A stark contrast to alot of the one hit wonders we see on the internet..............
