Hi can someone please confirm or deny the rumor iv been told please. are LLY and LB7 pistons the same? Is it worth de-lipping LLY pistons

Same up to 06, as 06 LLY's are LBZ's with less go.

Lots of people do it, seems to be a decent less expensive route to go.

Yeah I have a wizard put a spell on my pistons. I dont mind it unless its done wrong either.

Iv run valve springs in a high rpm solid roller gas race engine. They use to last 2 meets after treating they last a whole season. So i do everything now as it cost me nothing call it bs i don't care i do it because i can and it's worked.

I'm no expert but going through all the trouble of building a motor it would be stupid to not put Carrillos in if your going to make any power or you will be doing it again:spit:

Or at least a Manley rod

THere is 1 small physical difference between lb7 and 04/05 lly pistons, i have yet to break a modded lly piston at 1k hp so i dont beleive it to be a strength difference at all!
