I don't feel 6" is thick enough for just pads either. That is why my father went with 12". We also drilled the exsisting floor and slid rebar into the wholes. Drilled one end 12" and the other 6" and put 5' long pieces of rebar in so they had 6" in either end. We also epoxied the rebar in. Def overkill but not exactly an area where you want to learn by trial and error:D:rofl:

I know, this is what I am trying to avoid-your beer prices are too steep for me!!

I will have just over 10' inside my garage when it is done, but this is with the garage door closed. I need something that doesn't have post that go over 8'.

FWIW, My garage pad is 16" thick with 35MPA concrete!!:D
