how do i do such? im ordering efi live from pat tomorrow and im sure this is something ill have to do? and whats the best place for a egt probe? do the kodiac drivers side manifold make a difference? thanks guys.
Youll need to pick up the shim kit. Then basically you remove a 17mm bolt at the back of the fuel rail, disassemble that plug, add your shims, reassemble and replace.
Pat has done a write up on exactly how to do it in the HOW TO section. http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=267
. Im sure he also has the shim kits available - pick one up the same time you order EFI LIVE.
If not, I have them in stock.
IMO not all LBZ's need to be shimmed. Wendy is not shimmed :thumb:
Mines never popped either.
i know mine is an LLY but mine never popped open and i lost pressure really bad on a WOT pass
I would recommend you not shim it unless you know it is blowing open. There is a chance you could actually screw something up by trying to fix something that isn't broke.
