So my Dad's 2012 Equinox has started to have a drinking problem. Around 2 quarts in a little less than 6000 miles. The car has ~60k miles on it now. No hard driving, in fact it's mainly highway miles. I know the early DI 2.4L's had issues, but I thought that the 2012+'s had some of the fixes in by then.
Does anyone know if there is a TSB for the newer 2.4L Ecotec's regarding high oil usage? Reading up on the 2010 2.4L's, it sounded like GM was saying 1 quart every 2000 miles was OK. This is insane, but doesn't surprise me from a warranty stand point .... it just pisses me off.
Was also wondering what other TSB's are out there for that engine. I also happen to have a 2012 Equinox with the 2.4L ... ugh .... knock on wood ... so far it's been good, but now I am a bit concerned.
