Need LB7 help for a friend... CAM SENSOR!!!

My buddy had his LB7 throw a MIL this morning, and would not crank...

After removal of Edge and Attitude it cranked and ran fine but stored code.

Code appears to be a ~ CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR "A" MALFUNCTION ~

He is going to get me excat code # tonight..

Can I read the Cam Position sensor with EFILive Scan Tool and see if it is acting eratic????? It willnot throw the code without Edge, btu once Edge is installed it Won't Start and Throws MIL immediately!!!

We are trying to determien if Sensor is bad and Edge advancing is Kickign it out or if Edge is bad on it's own....

Also would anyone know what a normal Cam Sensor reading would be if it is able to be read at idle for instance, to see if it's acting eratic and jumpy????

Will,

maybe one of the pins in the edge harness is not making full/good contact. I had all kinds of problems with my Edge, they all disappeared after getting rid of it. Edge does have good customer service though, they will usually send a new system to you rather than fixing the damaged one, I know this as I got 2 new ones from them.

I dont know if EFI can read the cam sensor, but it will read the thrown code.
