Lower profile oil fill tube

I need to lower the oil fill tube on my 08 LMM, I am looking at a 01-05 tube that looks shorter, does anyone have a clue if this can be made to fit.
I could cut down and weld up my original but this would look cleaner.

the older tubes bolt right in on the LMM. We use these fillers when we do Van tstat housing swaps.

Which direction does the van thermostat housing point the upper rad. hose? what is the part# (to fit 08 LMM)and can you recommend where it can be drilled and tapped for a 1/8" sending unit, I had intended to look at the forward facing threaded hole in the lower thermostat housing but it looks like the 01-05 oil fill tube bolts there.

Cut, fit, weld, paint.

The thermostat hosing can also be flipped by cutting off and rewelding the two end tabs. I did the hard way and made a new plate. Looking back, easier to just change 2 outside holes..

The only bad thing about swapping the filler neck is the filler neck on the LMM supports the fan shroud.

It won't hurt anything, I have the short neck and the forward facing HSP kit. The shroud never rubs on the fan.

I had an issue with that. Tried leaving the top bracket off of an lbz and under full fan and high rpm, it would suck the cage in and rub the fan. Sounded like a whiny power steering pump till I had someone rev it in park and see the cage suck in
