EGT probe?

I'm planning on installing my gauges to use with HPT. Where is everyone putting the egt probe? Do I need to pull a manifold?

I have one in the driver side manifold and one in the turbo downpipe

No you dont need to pull the manifold,Drill it out while the truck is running
carefully and use a face shield

Is there any spot on the manifold thats better or just pick the easiest place to drill.

Right side of truck,go through wheel well.

A flat spot toward the rear of the manifold.


While you are there change the fuel filter.

Hope this helps. This is the place I find the easiest for pre-turbo readings.

another option is purchase a BD manifold for the drivers side,It comes with a tap
