Allison 5sp: Drive to Reverse clunk?

Anyone else have a pretty good clunk going fron normal D to Reverse? This is the only situation this happens in. Any thoughts or just normal?

Try resetting your garage TAPs. Do not reset anything else.

Thanks Mike. Can you refresh my memory on this process. Do I just reflash my current file and then select the taps tab and click on the appropriate pull down?

Joey, it's been awhile since I've done it, but connect with the Scan Tool and click on the Allison symbol...

My LB7 does it, but my LBZ doesn't. Both have built tranny's.

I got an LB7 .... Only clunks when it goes into park. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Take a Tech 2 and go into module status and see how many codes are in any of the modules. Clear them all, reset garage TAPs and report back with results.

One more thing; make sure the cruise control is off. Sometimes TAPs get finiky about that shit.

I'll have to let my buddy that bought my 02 this. It did it a few times when I owned it a few years ago and I never shut my crusie off on that truck and i know he hardly ever does too. Thanks for the info.

That's what I'll do then. Then I guess I can reset Garage Taps from there?
