does anyone know the procedues to timing the cam or can I just use the factory timing marks doing a stock rebuild in my truck and want to make sure it is correct before I install it and put the engine back in the truck

Use the factory timing marks. That is all you need to do since the cam and crank have locating pins for the gears.
