I just replaced a lly turbo with 275k, blowing oil everywhere out turbine.

Goes to show no two trucks are the same.. I replaced this one although i don't know if it was bad.. But I had a free one with known good with 130k on it sitting on my shelf, and I didn't feel like taking the chance on the 500k one

This truck came in for spun main bearings, i just happened to notice the turbo puking also. Looked like poor maintenance and lack of oil whatsoever at some point, which im sure wasnt easy on turbo let alone main bearings!

I have the modded Lly turbo that Brock built for me. It has the tct wheel, 10 blade turbine, fingers high flow vanes, with port n polish. I love it and have $1,125 in parts including a rebuild kit. Mark at Danville said he's gotten 700hp out of this same turbo.

This setup is absolutely amazing for all the more that it costs and consists of. Spools same or better than stock, exhaust brakes better than stock, but flows a ton more air and exhaust than stock. Best of all worlds IMO for most people. The only thing i dont like is the extreme turbine whistle out the tailpipe but a lot of people enjoy that.

Exactly! I would definitely say it spools better than stock forsure. For the price it cannot be beat. I tow my enclosed trailer for work during the week which is why I stuck with this turbo. It tows great and turbo brake is very strong. I can't wait to throw some more fuel at it.

I already have the 1058 in the truck with a built trans, looking for a turbo setup that works well with it

That's the exact setup I'm running. It works fine, Brock and others are running a 58 with Danville chargers. It's not the best coverter but it's also not the worst.

Works fine. Still run a 12.8 with a weak cp3. A 1078 would be a better converter but the 58 does the job. I would rather spend 1500 on sending my injectors to exergy to be honed into 60% than spend 1500 on a new converter

Sure about that.... Why push the envelope anymore & end up with a cracked piston. How much pulse are you running now? What if a converter makes the truck DD alot better & keeps you in the "safe zone" I'd buy a limitless diesel converter before anything other than a trans & tune on a VVT truck.

TX of course
The way I see it he's going to make the engine a lot happier by going with bigger injectors. Its not like he's going to put more stress on the motor with the cp3 being weak.
