Default What did you do at work today?

Milled a drill press table flat for a customer, had to take .014Ē off of it. I just wonder what kind of precision flatness one needs with an old drill press?

Fixed a hotsy control box today. My brothers company had problems blowing rectifiers and relays. It finally melted everything so I retired the unit according to manufacture diagram runs good know! They have ac power going into the box the controls the relay and timer. Someone had tapped that into the negative dc side of the system. Stand alone unit.

I don't know, but it sure scratches my OCD itch to see things get trued up like that! Maybe this person is like me, but with disposable income? I spent all my money on my Duramaxes...

Had a trackhoe and a dozer brought in along with 2 loads of rock and got the road fixed. You canít tell from the pictures but thatís a pretty steep road.

Brought the old Troy-Bilt tiller in and converted it to a fast hitch with an engine to go behind the 140. Cole wanted to see how a wood splitter works.

Very cool he's helping. Please put some safety glasses on that cute kid. I was splitting some wood, just like that, and had a small piece hit me in the face. Glad I had the glasses on.

Yeah I will. Thanks for the heads up. Heís never seen a wood splitter work and that is the only piece we did. I get it, it only takes one piece. Iíve had so many pieces of metal cut out of my eye I lost count, most of them were with glasses on. Itís no fun.

Freak accidents happen no matter what. Last time we cut brush at the farm, I turned the saw off (left my glasses on, took ear plugs out), went to drag some branches out of the way and turned my head to watch my step and ended up taking a twig to the side of my face. One part entered my ear canal and put a small hole in my right ear drum, not a fun experience.

A buddy of mine was recently cutting some timber on a bandsaw and it kicked a chunk into his face and knocked him out. On the way down he smacked his jaw/face onto the edge of the saw table. Split his chin open, broken jaw, nose, cheek bone, and a few teeth. Maybe a face shield could have helped, but he didn't have anything on.

Took me 2 hours but I hacked up grandmas old coffee table and made a pallet. The coffee stains really bring out the grain.

Youíre not a real Motorman til you black the rig out when your on bottom drilling 300 ROP.
Sh*t just went dark, shut all power down to everything including the camps on site! Out of 4 gens 3 were getting warm and 2 of those 3 gave up the ghost and shut down. I was on the rig floor and got to see the pipe free spin from the leftover torque from down hole.
