    I believe since it was a van engine is why it is coded LLY even tho may have been made in 2007. I know the Kodiak/Topkick were called LLY in the 2007 model year.

    The ones I’ve seen fail are being installed by the machine shop doing the rest of head work. So maybe its the machine shops method of installing them as they would have been all done by the same shop. I do have the tool in my GM 6.6 service kit and will use it to fix my own truck And others.

    The OEM ones seem to work good. It’s the aftermarket ones like Mahle and Felpro that dont say seated. I’m just thinking if the L5P ones would fit that would eliminate the seating problem.

    Yep that is what we started with. Basically only things that stayed original were the drive train, wiring and interior.

    Spray silicone in aerosol also works well. It’s time to start digging into it and see what damage you have. You may have lifted the heads as well.

    So now the truth is out. A flood engine. I would have been pretty skeptical of something like that.
