    4l80E question

you should be air checking the 2nd gear clutch when you replace it. Youll be pulling the transmission out again to repair it. Then when you have the rear gear train, center support and intermediates in, install your center support 12pt 3/8" bolt, then apply shop air thru the hole of the bolt...

    4L80e Build for 550hp

The borg Warner’s are the factory frictions. You dual feed the directs not the intermediate. Use forward steels in the direct drum and you’ll get 6 frictions instead of 5. Drill a .062 hole in the bottom of the direct drum under the piston to prevent centrifugal apply...drill the line to lube...

    4L80e Build for 550hp

The stacked plate and the pressure relief valve will stick in an hd2 kit every time. Much better way to dual feed the directs Like Mike said, the AFL valve is a known problem don’t waste time vacuum testing just ream it. At 550whp you’ll want 180psi line. Sonnax lb1 will be your friend.

    Swapping nozzles

The only thing your going to pick up by going to 100s with your current setup is safer on the engine. Right now your 10mm is your limiting factor. We’ve been mid 10s and put down 1000whp like many others have on 60s.

    Allison 5sp: Full Transgo?

Here are some G4 I just pulled out of a trans with approx 800 miles on it at 1200whp. Piston isn’t cut. Pic of all frictions is c3. Pic of single steel and friction is of c4 which didn’t fair well either. Only thing I see is the friction must not be as aggressive as a g3 as the steels in c4...

    PJ Trailers

I had a 2018 28ft pj gooseneck it was a great trailer and pulled awesome. This year I got a 30ft big tex. comparing them both side by side youd be hard pressed to find many differences in how they are built. My big tex axles are a little further back thats the only down fall. I would coat...

PPEI Next On The Chopping Block???

its A federal offense to remove emissions and has been for some time. Just because your local law doesn’t have emissions for diesels and doesn’t check it doesn’t mean it hasn’t been illegal. Now they are just enforcing it. We’ve been driving with straight piped diesels since before time and it...

    4l80E Stall Rpm

What size converter is it? The one in our race truck is built off a 13" converter not a small 245mm or 278mm like most probably would build it as. Suncoast did ours its a 1055-2 with an 80 hub welded to it basically. (2500-2600 stall) but the 13" converter is where its at. with a single 76mm...

    Allison 6sp: Alto G3 pack c1

for 6 speeds the .105 apply and .400 backing usually come out perfect with altos. Like mike said .080 is fine even.

Allison 5sp: Is Anyone Making New Snake Oilers?

In theory Evans kit will supply cooler fluid since it comes off the return line of the trans line so its been air cooled where as the pressure port feed is probably hotter fluid since its higher pressure. Evan and I have talked about cooler line pressure and he tested it back when i was doing...

    LBZ: 36k rail pressure

Truck would fuel weird it would come and go mid pull, nose over sometimes. I would snuff the turbo at the end of the track. Went back to the stock sensor, and went back to normal

    LBZ: 36k rail pressure

The table is there yes but it does not physically like going higher and the ecm doesnt really like any different sensor/scaling in the table.

    LBZ: 36k rail pressure

They do have that table to rescale the sensor. In the LBZ its hard to do. on the lb7/lly its easy and works fine. I ran a 32k psi sensor in my lbz and rescaled the table and it never did work perfect every time. Mark was doing the tuning and we had it scaled correctly and it would freak the...
