    My "New" 2016 Canyon

Had a chance to pick up a 2016 Canyon Duramax cheap. Bought it knowing it would have problems, but it's in surprisingly good shape, considering 210,000 miles on the clock. I found and addressed some wire chafing issues that are common on these. The torque converter had a nasty shudder, but I...

    L5P tuning software?

    Efilive support them as well

    Unimpressed with reputable tuner file

I disagree with the tuner about pulsewidth being the factory fuel control. These trucks have a torque based fueling system. I agree it's silly to just crank up pulsewidth. To his credit, he did make some adjustments to Driver Demand and Torque Based fuel, but he then proceeded to set the master...

    Unimpressed with reputable tuner file

You're right. I've done SOTF tunes for these trucks, and the tuner should be adjusting boost and timing as well as fuel rate. The engine noise is probably from the tuner raising timing across the board. That's a common practice I've never understood. Sure, you should add timing up top, and maybe...

    Turbo noise

10 blade turbine will give you lots of noise. Think 6.0 Powerstroke.

Looking for a tune to be made or someone to tell me how to make one

Post your stock tune here. I actually have SCT software, but I've never used it. I can try to set up a tune for your truck but it won't be smokey and it will be stock trans safe.

Need stock tune file for lbz

This is the closest file I have, but the fuel system segment is wrong. If you have the file read out of your truck, copy the fuel system segment from that.

Need stock tune file for lbz

It's ideal to use the exact file for your truck. Post your VIN or a list of the segments if you have it

    My 7 is undergoing surgery….

I used a few sets of the Spec D brand. They seem well made for the price

    Blacked out infotainment system.

I would say either find the fuse for it or disconnect the batteries and cross the cables for a bit. It just may fix itself. Seen it happen.

Bought and sold a 2016 Colorado

Thanks for that. Some of those issues I can definitely fix if needed. I'm looking at the Denali trim, so it would have the black leather. All the ones I've seen for sale have perfect seats, even with 100,000+ miles.

Bought and sold a 2016 Colorado

Care to go into detail? I'm in the market for one of these trucks and like the 21-22 style if I can find one that fits my budget.

    Cheapo Amazon LED headlight bulbs

I'd recommend these for high beams. Are they actually 32000 lumens? Probably not, but they are bright and seem to last decently long. They're also available in H7. Auxito is another good brand. Both of these brands will run a little more on cost, but the quality is better. They also design the...

    LB7 LML Allison 1000 conversion & swap

I can verify an 06 VB works fine in 01-05 trucks.

    LB7 Trans issue

Interesting. Wasn't aware of that. Does Efilive have the needed settings to disable the solenoid, or would that be custom mapped?

    LB7 Trans issue

Other than swapping the complete valve body for a newer design from a 2006-19 truck, nothing needs changed. I'm not up on what exactly is different inside the VB, but I know for a fact that a LLY VB doesn't work, in spite of the fact that it has a G solenoid already there.

    LB7 Trans issue

Glad you fixed it. Always a good feeling. I'm going to be the odd guy here and say I really like 6 speed conversions. But only if you can control the calibration yourself. I've done a couple myself and would do it again. If you're up to a little challenge, you can build your own setup. You just...
