    Bought a Cruze

I'd try running the Valvoline restore engine oil. Good results from tests Source: https://youtu.be/-IDvx1LtqVM?is=ygUMIUGX_4R9KpUy

July '26 Chat -- Food, Family, Fireworks and Fun!

Might be a good day, first time I've walked outside this week and my glasses haven't fogged up. Made sure to set a few bottle rockets off at midnight

    Bought a Cruze

Good lord those are terrible. I probably wouldn't have moved up to a 9 either, but 6 does seem odd for a turbo engine

    Alternator issue?

I not on the up and up with all vehicles, first time I've heard of needing to program the bcm for battery type

    Fuel fitting sizes

Heat shield seems kind of flimsy IMO. Mine are bolted to the cross member right next to the tank, I'll try to get a picture

I don't see an issue with that style. Like you said, it's still an oring seal like factory. I have a feeling most issues with this type adapter stem from sub standard brands and oring type. Honestly though you might just be getting some weep from a rusty sending unit or a dry rotted rubber hose

    Fuel fitting sizes

Link to the fittings you're looking at? I want to say the OE feed line is 3/8 at the bulk head? Then moves to 1/2. Haha hell idk

    Fuel fitting sizes

Correct on the 5/8" feed line. I believe the 5/8 is the OE vent and the new pickup tube is swapped to feed through that to the pump. Then the vent is switched to the old feed line port

Did you do a chemical iron remover first?

    My TDI tuning adventure

For gas and diesel? I can see that kinda working for gas, things operate within a much narrower window, although I can see it just jacking up the timing until it sees knock. Diesel operates on such a wide range AFR I don't see it doing a great job without an opacity meter in the pipe

    My TDI tuning adventure

Maybe there's some high end AI that can write solid tune files based on user feedback and engine design data? As far as I know there isn't... Buddy that still works at a major OE, he works on fuel / timing based on live data and log files. Manual adjustments for the most part. He even complains...

So you were teaching AI how to tune 🤣 Do you know the flow rate of the injectors?

LB7 Leak from Valve cover at high pressure fuel line

You can replace those seals in the valve cover. Obviously it's been apart before, hard to tell if they half assed anything but I've seen those grommets weep before

    Aluminum Radiators?

I've heard it a couple times from dealer techs, they always crimp the tanks tighter on a new rad before install. Not sure if it's good bad or indifferent, but if there were any issues I'm sure they'd notice

Bad converter or something else? No DTC's

The way I read your post it didn't sound like it was pushing through the brakes. Is the truck tuned? If not, you could definitely get away with only a converter. If it was mine, I'd be tearing the stator assembly apart while I had the transmission out to check the pump and the converter valve
