High EGTs w/ KB Diesel 64mm

Doesn't sound you have much of a boost leak if you do, but only one way to tell. Going to have to check for leaks.

Maybe your Pyro is bad too. What are you using? I had 1 go bad every couple years. I think it was a Ktype. I bought new speedhut gauges about 8 years ago and never had a problem since.

May '26 Chat -- "Are We There Yet?"

I've told my wife many times that is the only cruise I will ever go on in my life. I had a friend that went and he fell in love with Alaska so much he actually moved there. He back now through work needed him back in town. He kind of Kicks himself for not staying but for what he makes its worth...

May '26 Chat -- "Are We There Yet?"

No vacations for spring break. My goddaughter's graduating Out-of-state around Labor Day so we'll be out of town for that. Then 2 weeks in Florida for my daughter's Taekwondo nationals. I didn't know when I let my daughter take part in TKD that I'd be giving up my vacation every year to go to...

    Heatshields, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Excellent points and that is kind of the road I was going down. The concern of corrosion comes mostly from my experience with heater wrap on my downpipe. It was heavily pitted even after only ~5years even with it painted with high temp paint that I've had good luck with not failing (uncovered)...

I've seen some interesting things on the back of semis tailers over the year but this one had me doing a double take. I knew what I was seeing couldn't be real but I was really starting to question myself for a moment.

Yankees and their garage saling.... lol When we lived up north that was kind of a neat thing to do but down here in the south it's one of the more unpleasant things we do. People nether selling a bunch of junk, and they think it's worth what they paid new for it. 75% of the time they don't...

    Heatshields, heat wrap, turbo blankets

I think I bought my up pipe blanks from you 15 years ago or so. I think they're still in pretty good shape. You must not be on the planned obsolescence program. It would be for a duramax, but general informationis fine. I'm just kind of curious about the pros and cons I really can't find a lot...

    Fixing my LBZ/ truck build

I did a little test fitting today. I know these turbo kits have come with several options over the years. So I'm still trying to work through what all needs to be moved. Looks like I can keep the 2nd battery room wise, but I'm not sure how feasible it is to keep it in its factory location...

Levi are you still making blankets? I've been seeing some stainless or inconel ones too what are your thoughts on them?

I look at it like this. If there's uncertainty in the market. As a trader I'm not going to be in a big hurry to drop rates just to increase them again the next day. That just adds to uncertainty IMO. Just the se as they probably don't raise them with every little spike.

An interesting air to water intercooler

I saw this on a video about a car manufacturer in Europe. Pretty interesting set up. I'm sure the price is outrageous but I wonder how it works for diesel applications. Specially someone trying to be sneaky when you're not supposed to have air to water...

I'm pretty sure the filter head is higher than the pump. Instead of a pinhole I just put a valve on it into the gravity drain line into the filler neck for my Aux tank. Which helps me with my gravity dump. Sometimes the check valve will get stuck. So instead of shaking my truck or blowing out...

My pumps been on since 09 or earlier. Nope after the pump for the filter. Even after bleeding the fuel filters there's always an air pocket there that seems to migrate back to the pumps and cause cavitation. I have a fuel pressure gauge that has an alarm when it goes 0. I would regularly have...

    New toy

I had a 383 stroker in my 80' when I was 18. That poor truck didn't stand a chance. We put a lot of work into it, but I tore it up just as fast. My dad got fed up and hauled it to the scrapyard. It had bucket seats in a short bed from the factory we believe. Would have been a bad ass truck had...

Yeah I love the pumps , but I'm not super impressed with the controller or John either. I'm surprised you've had that many issues with it. I burnt one up a few years ago but it probably made it 13 years+. Although I think the one that I have now that's only 4 years old is giving me fits. I...

    03 LB7 Build

Ya I use Lambda to limit my smoke to an acceptable level to me. Then the truck seems to increase fueling in colder weather versus hot to still have the same Lambda. Since 6 months out of the year we're 90* plus and 90% humidity plus I'm always tuned for hot weather lol

    Fixing my LBZ/ truck build

I am looking at adding an oil temperature gauge and an exhaust back pressure gauge to my truck. I know we have a good thread on oil temperature, but I didn't see a lot about exhaust back pressure. Do I need exhaust back pressure more than just for tuning? I was thinking about maybe after I...
