    Yeah i lived there my whole life...wanted out and joined the military and now after 8 years miss it enough I want to go back to and raise a family there...should be getting the motor within a week or so and will be updating with pictures and what not

    Wish I would have known that a few weeks ago haha. Just bought this...figure since my buddy has the motor and another buddy has a used crane 272 cam and an intake I could pick up used I should be able to do it up pretty good and relatively reasonably priced.

    Well that search ended quick...talking with my neighbor he has a complete running 454 that he'll sell me for $400. Completely stock motor with 049 heads. Plan on cam, headers, intake, carb, valve springs and lifters. Any advice as to what setup to run?

    Not a trail rig just a fun weekend wheeler that I drive only locally. Anyone have input on the GMPP crate motors? I am trying to debate between a 350 and a 454. Always wanted a BBC and never had one but had a ton of 350s. The crate 350 is about a grand cheaper.

    Well the motor/truck isn't at all what was told in the sale...lesson to all check casting numbers before hand. So turns out the block casting number is 460778 a 2-bolt main 305 and the heads aren't aluminum they are painted aluminized (magnet proved that) and their casting number is 3998993 76cc...

    Thank you and I agree. Everyone likes to generalize. I really like all the guys saying "I'd shoot him" let me know how getting your ass whipped constitutes the use of deadly force. Also I am from Alaska a state with probably the most lax nonexistent gun laws and you would be in jail for murder.
