    Crankshaft Question

So I've read alot about used cranks checking out good, using them in a rebuild, and not long after break. My mind says that the steel has been fatigued in a certain matter. It's used to the beating it sees with stock balancing etc. It mags out good, gets used in a rebuild that gets internally...

    LML Turbo suggestions needed.

If I had my choice a 62/68sxe gated, paired with an s480 would be a fun setup imo. I went from a Danville 3794 vgt to an s369sxe, only to try a 68mm stg2r and go right back to the fixed vane. If you have the money, go fixed vane imo. It's worth it.

    LML Turbo suggestions needed.

I went away from a Danville vgt, and have zero regrets. Fixed vanes free up alot of drive pressure.

    LLY Tuning - Built Engine/Compounds

I dont believe it's much of an issue with the LLY, but the LBZ and especially the LMM like to downshift if you get too aggressive with MAF limiting with bigger chargers.

    Mangled glow plug removal

Soak with penetrating oil for a 2weeks of normal driving and then try welding a nut to it. Ive had this issue and it frees them right up. I'm in MN, so everything gets pretty nasty here. Patience is your friend.

Compatible Exhaust Housings for VGT Turbo

Drive pressure will be fairly high compared to a fixed vane. A gated fixed vane would be ideal. I experimented with a 68stg2r and found on a 500hp tune, the vgt had nearly 20psi more drive pressure than my s369sxe making the same boost pressure. Plus the fixed vane was 1:1 until rpms crept past...

Valley turbo upgrade - compounds - built engine

I'm curious why more guys don't install a smaller sized gated fixed vane in the valley? I just put on a 68mm stg2r a few days ago and it's very interesting seeing the difference in drive pressure vs boost at all stages (comparing s300sxe vs 68mm stg2r). The stg2r so far is between 1.5:1 to 2:1...

    2008 lmm tuning questions

You won't get mpgs with the lift and tires fwiw.. If you have the autocal plug it in and re-download the dsp5 file? Worth a try..

Looking for a low power tune 08 LMM

Why in the world build a project utilizing a duramax, and not make damn sure everything will jive, to the point you want a less than stock tune?? My God throw a 350 in there instead..

Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act

Sadly this at a standstill for a reason I'm afraid. They could care less what we the citizens think. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the beginning of the end for the US. Looks like we are heading for the Great Reset..

Doing Head Gasket Job, doing a very mild build at same time; wanting insight

They know what they are doing as far as balancing goes, I had to do some more digging on parts and recipes as far as internally balanced vs externally.. If I were to do pistons only and go with externally balanced to help the budget I was trying to figure out how we would rebalance it. I suppose...

Doing Head Gasket Job, doing a very mild build at same time; wanting insight

The plan is to mag the crank, and if it checks out good mine as well continue using it. I mean it's made it this far?? I just may do the socal rods.. the only thing I'm uncertain about is balancing. I have the stock damper and flex plate. Btw this is on a LMM

Doing Head Gasket Job, doing a very mild build at same time; wanting insight

So I have some leaky head gaskets and am going to pull the engine to do it. I have ties to an engine builder that will let me use his shop/equipment to do what I have planned. I want a more reliable engine, and dont plan on going past 675hp. Here's my plan: Mahle WS headgaskets Gasket kit Mahle...

    Injector Replacement Best Practices

Yes, I also use compressed air to blow the cryd out afterwards. I soaked mine for a few weeks, and they all came out super easy. Truck had 220k miles and is a northern salt truck.

    Injector Replacement Best Practices

Get a 12g shotgun cleaning kit from Amazon, spray them all down with aerokroil for a week or two before you pull them, otherwise I don't think you can be too anal

    Brake upgrades (stock replacement)

Another thing you can do while you do brakes, is suck your reservoir almost dry. Get all the old fluid out. Refill, and bleed each corner to get all the old fluid out. Brake fluid attracts moisture, which gives you a softer pedal.

Starting to really question the calibration with my DDP injectors - input wanted

Hi Mark! Thanks for the reply! So yes, I've managed to get them to run how I was hoping for the most part. Was able to hit a dyno and stop where I was wanting with the big tune etc. I was just taken back a bit on having to add at higher pressures. I called DDP to ask them about this, and they...

Starting to really question the calibration with my DDP injectors - input wanted

So after tuning on these injectors for nearly a year now I've found I had to ADD 25% rouhgly to my pulse table, across the board, in lower mm3 regions for it to drive correctly. I'm talking about just cruising down the freeway. Even at 120mpa, I had to add 25% etc to cruise around 30-35mm3. I...

Cant seem to control/alter pilot injection (LB7)

I'm trying to require less pilot timing, and I can't seem to find anything that would limit pilot quantity.

Cant seem to control/alter pilot injection (LB7)

So I have tuned a couple LB7 trucks now (01, and two 04's) that I logged and found the pilot injection (quantity and timing) to not be following what I put in as an input. Is this a common theme with efi live and the lb7?
