    Oil cooling

I'm running a decent size one from fluidyne, its the db-30616 single pass with there custom fan and shrowd. It's mounted up under the truck by the tcase like a few other guys on here. I wouldn't run a dual pass check out the dp/rating vs the singles. I think you would have a hard time...

    Rattle at idle

Dipstick tube and down pipe is another place to check. Seen a few of those drive people nuts. They were mostly while driving though

Fox 2.0 Performance Series Shocks - Inspection and How to Rebuild Them

My front appears to be valved the same as the one James has there. The pellet is a pos and is pressed in on the inside of the shock tube. The pitting on the shaft is circled so you can see it. I couldn't find the rear one, I may have tossed it but will keep looking. Sent from my SM-G981U using...

Fox 2.0 Performance Series Shocks - Inspection and How to Rebuild Them

Cool thread, I have a set of the cheaper 2.0 non resi ones and also wasn't happy with the longevity. Mine had shaft pitting issues with less than 10k miles, the real kicker is the pitting wasn't even related to rock or corrosion damage. The pitting started were the bearing was behind the seal...

    2018 L5P slipping?

The pic of the filter that's the outside of the filter media. It opens up, did you look inside of it? It's basically folded in half and you have to unfold it to see what's inside.

    Edge CTS2 problem

Your going to laugh I was in the same boat, it was a buddies truck. I swapped about every module on the truck with ones out of mine, checked class 2 data wiring everywhere numerous times. I felt defeated on this one then eventually found that fukn radiator adapter and then the light turned on...

    Towing Compounds

Bumping this up to see if you got it put together and using the new turbo setup? I'm still procratinating on doing something with mine, still thinking about using a gated setup. The question I have is would you make more HP without a gate with the higher boost/drive pressure on the 76/68...

    LLY Tuning - Built Engine/Compounds

Don't be discouraged, I know people like Josh come on here and chime in about how great and perfect there huge turbo/big injector trucks tow so perfectly and have absolutely no driveability issues. You have to remember these guys are around 2000ft or less in elevation. They would be crying also...

    LLY - Cracked piston

If it was in one of the oil galleys you would have worse issues . Guess you have two choices, tear it apart or go on about your day and hope for the best if there is no obvious reason not to. Did you cut the first filter open to see if there was any suprizes in there?

    LLY Tuning - Built Engine/Compounds

The 600-700F the intercooler is seeing pulling a hill is not helping engine temps either, all that heat off the intercooler goes right into the radiator. This is a never ending battle with twin trucks, those who say otherwise either: 1. Don't know any better, 2. Don't tow big loads in...

    LLY Tuning - Built Engine/Compounds

Logs or video no werky for me. How bad are the intake air temps? No amount of tuning is going to fix 160-180F intake air temp when working the truck hard, just imagine what the intercooler is seeing after that 160F+ temp get compounded through each turbo.

    High engine temps

Try the cooling stack, depending on your area it doesn't take long for them to get dirty. To much timing on the tow tune will make them run warmer to, if you do your own tuning that's something to check. The Hayden fan clutches are hit or miss, sometimes they are great, and sometimes they are...

    LLY - Cracked piston

Clean the turbo an inside of the boot real good with brake clean and a rag. Go steal your wifes hairspray and put that on the turbo and ID of the boot. That worked good for me and mine was doing the same thing, Johns way is the route I was going to go if the hairspray didn't get it.

Valley turbo upgrade - compounds - built engine

It's hard to say mine was parked for 3 years with a cracked piston before I decided to build a motor for it. Doubtful they did anything for drive pressure I would imagine.

Valley turbo upgrade - compounds - built engine

I tow with 100's and got no complaints other than my valley turbo is to big so it's more work to clean up the lower rpm low boost areas. Only good thing is drive pressure is usually less than the boost or barely over like 2-4 psi in the higher 34-3600rpms but I have a gated charger.

Valley turbo upgrade - compounds - built engine

How bad were your intake air temps before when towing? This is a big issue for for me, seems the only way to get it under control with these old trucks is get the air inlet outside of the engine bay. I'm seeing anywhere from 30-40 degrees over ambient with the truck working hard, it used to be...

Valley turbo upgrade - compounds - built engine

I say be convervative on the valley turbo for your intended use and elevation, I over did it on mine. Everyone says high stall converters and shift points make up for laggy ass turbo's, that may be the case for a unloaded trucks used as a toy. But you can't be driving around all day with a...

    Harsh downshifting

Does the lubegaurd stuff help the 5spd's with the G3's in the C3/C4? I have the 5-4 & 3-2 harsh no throttle downshift, seem's to be a C3 release issue the frictions are just to grabby wich is a good thing most of the time. Mine even carries on in reverse after moving the shifter to nuetral for a...

What are people using for manifold bolts? Pro Fab

If you have the stainless bolts do yourself a favor and throw them in the garbage they are the equivilant to grade 3 bolts almost. They were nothing but headaches for me, 2 sets of up pipe gaskets and one set of manifold gaskets later I got new bolts and finally trouble free. Every 200 miles I...
