    Ultimate Callout Challenge watch

This track isn't usually very well prepped. Then the altitude thing.....lots of people used to low elevation don't realize how much effect it has. Salt Lake City is about 4400' elevation, and during race season the temp will be about 100 degrees or more out there. Yesterday's temp. was a very...

The trans had problems and broke after a couple runs. They pulled it in the pits, the builder took it apart. Didn't get it back in before the 8pm deadline.

SDP Twins or Danville 68mm Daily Driver

I had that setup for a couple years on a stock engine, stock injectors. It was very nice, drove beautifully. Think I remember the big tune was about 550hp uncorrected at 4400' elevation, on a mustang dyno.

    Cknight199 motor build thread

Probably very few pumps blow up on the dyno, I thought it could have been mine. That pump was a 12mm stroker by FloorIt Diesel. It was only 3 months!! old.......completely ruined.

    Anybody running rear wheelwell liners?

You can make your own, I've done it. Do a posterboard cut and try pattern. The first set was .090" ABS which isn't easy to work with and it was time consuming. After a few years it got brittle and cracked. The current set is made from 1/8" stiff neoprene which works really well. It's very...

Symptoms of a broken valve spring/bent pushrod?

Broken valvespring is not good. When one of my high dollar aftermarket valvesprings broke, what began as a slapping noise escalated quickly to a very loud knock that sounded like hammer blows. The valvehead had broken off and riveted itself into the piston crown. The hammer blows were that...

Who's running TRIPLES and how do you like em verses compounds

Mine have Levi's blankets on all 3 turbine housings and the complete hotpipe. Heat isn't a problem. Blankets should be part of any compound setup.

What would make you think a NA gas engine was anywhere near comparable to a turbo diesel with lots of boost?

    Dry Sump for the Duramax.

But........he has a RACE PROGRAM (whatever the hell that really means) And a FAN CLUB (he's the only member) He just wants people to tell him he's wonderful.

Who's running TRIPLES and how do you like em verses compounds

I'm on set #4 now. First two were compounds......a 475/stock on a stock engine, then a 480/366 on a built engine. Then two sets of triples...62's/HTT366 which was changed to 371. Now it's gtx4088's/468. The compounds drove really beautifully and were nicely responsive. The first triples...

    LLY: Engine whine/turbo whine

I had what sounded like louder than usual turbo whine. It varied according to rpm. Noticed it one day when the radio wasn't on and thought it was just my imagination, that it was turbo. This went on for a few days. Did some dragstrip runs on Friday evening, next day on the dyno the stroker CP3...

Heat wrapping ppe manifolds and up pipes

Definitely put them on exhaust, and turbine housings. Keeps the heat where it's supposed to be and reduces underhood temps by a good bit.
