    2021 Silverado 3.0 review thread.

My biggest concern with the belt is originally GM claimed 175,000 miles limit on the belt, that has now changed to 150,000. Can't see anyone owning one with that many miles already, makes you think, what happened during the endurance testing runs? Dean

    2021 Silverado 3.0 review thread.

I did hear the early gen ECO diesel had some initial problems. All new engine designs do. The latest version of the ECO diesel look pretty reliable. The GM engineer constantly talked about the limited space they had to work with. Makes it very interesting to see the Ford and Dodge people did...

    2021 Silverado 3.0 review thread.

I had high hopes for the 3.0. I loved what Dodge did with the ECO Diesel and thought if I every had to get rid of my LMM this might be the way to go. Then when they came out and I started researching the new engine there were a number of things I did not like. Most of this centered on the...

What to do with fuel filter

Well, finally having some time to do a bit of research it appears I owe everyone an apology. I picked up some information about this on a previous Duramax forum where they discussed the damage. They even had pics of separate low side gear rotor style pump that showed damage due to the high...

What to do with fuel filter

Leave it on when you first put on the lift pump so any trash that gets into your fuel lines from the install gets trapped in the filter. There is another option. I did a FASS filter bowl delete. This replaces the filter with a machined bowl and still has the water detector on the bottom. I...

    Head resurfacing yay or nay?

I agree with others. Don't grind them for bumping up compression but I would ALWAYS clean them up to make sure they are true. Duramaxes do have issues with blown head gaskets. They need to be true before bolting them back down. Dean

There is an injector icon for special services but it is talking about encoding. Not sure what that means yet but still trying to figure it out. It can force a regen if needed but just not sure about the other stuff. I see a lot of videos on what it can do but so far i'm not having much luck...

    Diagnostic reader

Everyone, I was looking to upgrade my diagnotic reader. Purchased a Autel MK808 and learning to use it but thinking that I might want something that can read injector rates and rail pressures for my LMM. This unit does have all the modules that communicate with the BCM but it might be lacking...

    Need help with fass motor

As long as you filled out the warranty card when you installed the pump they carry a lifetime warranty. Are you sure the motor is bad, did you try bypassing the relay? Dean

    4L60E diagnostic help

Pretty sure you found your issue. If it tests fine and does not throw a code till things warm up a bit I was going to mention checking the connectors at the tranny and TCM. Shift solenoids do pull a bit of current and a weak connection would act this way and only get worse with time. Dean

    07.5 LMM Electrical Issue

Ron, one of the most effective ways to isolate the GMLAN low speed buss is thru the network comb. This is up by the BCM between the BCM and the fuse panel on the left side dash. If you have a hard fail buss you can remove that comb and start connection modules one at a time while looking at...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I said my goodbye on the other forum and sent a notice that I wanted my account closed and in record time my thread was closed to further comments and had the account deleted. Just another sign it was time to leave. Dean

Thanks, the bike is a 2015 Indian Roadmaster I bought new. It's got 60,000 miles on it currently and still love it. It had an issue some of the early bikes had where you would get some piston noises at certain RPMs and throttle settings. It ran great but since I can't leave anything alone I...

    07.5 LMM Electrical Issue

Here is the issue. Take a look at this video. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZuZrXmuy7Q What is happening here is the LMM series of trucks have two electronic busses for the integration of the communication of the different modules. (This is pre CAN buss stuff. I believe CAN buss...

Greetings everyone. I was a long time forum member on the Delphi Duramax forum but finally got tired of all the restrictions and heavy handed moderators. Looking for a place where we can freely talk about our diesel passions and love for our Duramaxes. I have owned my 2008 LMM since 2009 and...
