    2027 more emissions....

The reason locomotives use a diesel engine to drive a generator then electric motors to run the train is because nothing creates more torque than an electric motor! It also has much more controllability without the need of a complicated transmission to drive all of this. Chevy did create the...

    2008 LMM

I have had my LMM since 2009 and have put over 200,000 happy miles on it. One of the best additions to the older Duramax engines is a good lift pump. GM in their infinite wisdom designed this fuel system to pull the full from the tank to the CP3. While this aids in the function of the stock...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Well I am now leaning back to the 7000 lb MaxJax. It will work for everything else I have and is easily movable between the garage and workshop. I just can's use it on my truck. I suppose if I wanted to get creative for tire rotations on the Dmax I could put both arms up front to get the...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Which lift did you have that let you put it in a 10 ft ceiling? I really don't want to do the post lift with the cables and hoses running on the floor. For me working on my Dmax will mostly be for tire rotations and oil changes. The big pull for me is car restoration projects and the rest of...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

For me, I tore up my right shoulder lifting weights back in the day. For what I plan to use the lift for sitting on a butt card working in front of me is all I plan to do. Long periods with my right arm above me just does not work for me anymore. Dean

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Honestly not that often. Most times will be just for a tire rotation or an oil change. I'm not that worried about the height underneath. If it is high enough for me to work under it with a work stool will be plenty. The big help will be with project cars and lifting the body off of the frame...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Actually from the MaxJax that I was looking at and the AplusLift (10K two post) is about a couple grand less! Dean https://www.apluslift.com/collections/2-post-lifts/products/apluslift-2-post-car-lift-hw-10kbp

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Well I got the truck to the scales over lunch today and you were spot on! Zero fuel and removing my weight from the scale came out to 7214 lbs. With a full load of fuel (62 gallon S&B tank) that raises it up to 7650 lbs. There is about a 1200 lbs difference between the front and rear axle so...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Well I will get the truck weighed this afternoon. Does anyone a manufacturer that does a 10K two post lift with cables that run above that fits in a 10.5 ft ceiling? I can find that in setup that has the cables running on the floor but I really want an open floor so I can lift bodies off of...

Thinking about getting a two post lift

I see that there is a public weighing station just off of the interstate on the Iowa side from where I live. I think I'll call them tomorrow and see if I can get my truck weight so I know for certain. Dean

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Understood, from what I have been reading about the second support or a slight be forward from that on the side runners would be fairly balanced for this truck. D

Thinking about getting a two post lift

It would rare for me. Like I stated on original thread. This is more for the other vehicles and project cars but I would look at putting the truck on it for tire rotations or brake work. So maybe once a year and then only about a foot off of the ground when I would lift it. D

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Everything I see for a Z71 2500 4x4 crew cab with the diesel and the 6.5 ft bed is just under 6000 lbs. Where are you getting 7200 lbs? D

Thinking about getting a two post lift

Everyone, I have been thinking about a MaxJax portable two post lift for the garage and shop. This would be a big help in car maintenance and I could then move it to the main shop for doing car restoration work. It gets bolted to the floor and when not in use or I need to move it I can remove...

    Coolant flush on the LMM

Yeah, it is probably the way I will go. When it comes to my Duramax I usually do not take the cheapest way out. I have been in aircraft maintenance my whole life. Even though there is some good life on my other tires I will likely change out all 4 with new TPMS to make sure I wont have any...

    Coolant flush on the LMM

Well I got the couplings installed for the tranny cooler and put everything back together. Started the engine and let it run for a while getting up to temp. Everything looks good so far. Went ahead and did a bunch of routine maintenance since everything was opened up. Oil change, lub and...

    Coolant flush on the LMM

I would say anodized steel. I agree, I'm not worried about corrosion. BTW what NAPA charged me for the fittings was the much closer to the cost price not the list. For that money it's very cheap insurance. I should be able to put everything back together this weekend. Thanks for all the...

    Coolant flush on the LMM

Here is a snapshot I got from the GM parts guy I talked to on Saturday. He showed the NAPA parts listing equivalent. As you can see there are two different numbers for NAPA that reference the same GM number for the couplings for the radiator that go to the tranny cooler. I ordered the OEM...

    Coolant flush on the LMM

The heat exchanger is not as bad but it is still dirty. I can only hit the upper portion with my air nozzle and hose with the fan and lower shroud in place so I fabricated extension with a #4 aluminum line and a 90 degree end so I can clean the lower portion with some back flow.
