    Need some guidance

Since you can only open the cap when hot, fill it to that line and let it rip. There is an internal overflow that will purge any excess into a separate tank and draw back when it's cold. Make note of the level of fluid when hot and cold, and if it falls below those (after a few cycles of...

    Need some guidance

As long as the coolant is returning to the same level when cold and you are not having to add fluid past possibly the first or second time you get it up to temps on the road for more than just long enough to get it to temp, all is fine. If it's one of the newer style coolant tanks with the left...

    Noise from Subwoofer

Correct Ron. Trying to isolate the issue to power supply or if it's some how traveling through the RCA. I've picked up noise in the RCA on short runs just by it getting shifted too close to power wires (I believe there were some other issues in power feed also) and being looped. The way you...

    Noise from Subwoofer

I had a similar issue when I had the Velodyne. Adding https://www.crutchfield.com/S-8IJUifNA1Di/p_119MPSW200/Monster-Power-SW-200.html (no longer available but there is probably a substitute) killed the noise. You need to unplug the RCA feeding the subwoofer to determine if it's power feed or...

    Service Brake System message

My LLY did that a few times along with service 4WD when new and under warranty. Dealer added a ground strap from the cab to the driver side cab mount and I have not seen the message since.

    2022 Allison fluid change?

Would like information on how you disabled the T-stat in the VB. Is it complicated and did it require any "special"parts? Living in TX, the number of times a decade where the trans stat would be beneficial are countable on one hand starting with freezing temps this week.

    2022 Allison fluid change?

I've read where the GM fluid is recommended b/c the aftermarket fluid is thicker and leads to issues.

Rear Seat lift to accommodate sub box??

Looking at the PAC Site I think the one you want is https://catalog.pac-audio.com/catalog/amppro-amplifier-interfaces/ap4-gm61?_ga=2.128844932.948963427.1702128632-947337283.1702128632 If it fits the right years.

Rear Seat lift to accommodate sub box??

If your truck has the factory Bose setup with Bucket seats and a center console, I believe there is already an amp in the console for the speakers. I know the Classic body had a 5 channel amp in the console to fire the sub that was buried in there along with the rest of the speakers in the truck.

So I did something stupid this weekend.....

I wonder if you could use mold control or the AC tablets to prolong the cleanings if you think it's fungus. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003N5AS60/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Back on my 95 volvo the drains for the sunroof ran down the A pillars and dumped in the gap...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

Yeah I don't think any amount of penetrant was going to get that thing out. that looks like a lot of 1 - 2 hits forward, 1- 2 hits backward if it ever were to start moving. I did look and some of the parts are available still...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

If you can find it Kroil is a good penetrant. Not cheap by any means. The vinegar or evap-o-rust may get in there and break down the corrosion. I've seen mixed results online of people using it. Grinder to split while not elegant or fast will definitely get the job done. Just keep a bucket...

Bought, wrecked, rebuilding a 2009 LMM

400F is a decent number that will keep you below any temper on steel. If I knew the steel number I might be able to find the tempering numbers to get you a higher number. Are you planning to cut the keys off or you trying to get them to break loose and slide off? Have you tried wrapping the...

Compression test - dead piston or head gasket issue?

The big connectors on top of the engine are the Bail connectors I was referring to. This eliminates the fog being fuel. You need to bore scope that cylinder to see what's going on. I agree with others, add oil and it got worse sounds like something other than HG issues.

Compression test - dead piston or head gasket issue?

If you did not pull the bail connectors on top of the engine, you could be seeing fuel being ejected from the hole. Try putting some oil down the glow plug hole and see if that brings the compression back up. If it does, then you may have a weak set of rings. One other thing to check would be...

LB7 Blowing Smoke under heavy acceleration

Have you tried smelling the exhaust to see if it has a fuel smell. I know that sounds odd, but it may help pinpoint the issue faster.

LB7 Blowing Smoke under heavy acceleration

Blue colored smoke would most likely be oil as suggested by the leaking turbo seals. However the ticking is the thing that triggers me to think you may have a valve guide / seal issue. I know my LLY had wear and play in the exhaust valve guides at 160k (ish) when I had them checked. Also had...
